Default clicking not coming from tranny??

I have CKRC tranny gears installed in my truck but I recently started to hear clicks when my truck is in a bind. The clutch gears are screwed together so I know it isnt coming from the tranny. The spur and pinioin still look brand new, to me it kinda sounds like its coming from the rear diff. I put my finger on the rear diff during a click and did feel a vibration. I still have drive to all four tires but I would like to know what is making this noise.

Any ideas?

I have had this problem before. I checked the differential gears in the pumpkin. Both gears were pretty worn, and once i replaced them I had no probs.

Yup it's the diff gears, you can replace them with HPI RS4 final drive gear set, hardened steel, the stock are pot metal.
If you take the time to shim the gears to eliminate slop and get a better mesh, they will last much longer.

Thanks for the info guys.

The clicking is only when the truck is really stuck, so it is kinda acting like the old tranny clutch did only it doesnt slip as easily. I figure a click is better than a broke axle or a popped out driveshaft. East End Machining has a new gear set for 5 bucks so I'm just gonna order a couple of those and see how long I can make them last.
