| A few questions from a new crawler
I new to crawling but not so new to RC's. To give you an idea on my age, I had a Radio Shack Golden Arrow, Sears LOBO & a Traxxas Bullet in the first RTR package Traxxas ever put out. Anybody remember those? LOL! Since then I've been hooked on anything electric. I have a WK with the crawler conversion completed. Other modifications include: HPI SC-15 ESC Integy 55t Hot Racing servo mount Hitec HS-5645MG Servo Eight Shooter Beadlocks with M3 Moab's. I have a couple of questions about mods i see alot on the more experienced guys rigs. I'll list them below for anyone that wants to answer. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. 1. Traxxas drive shafts from all types of trucks - Why? I assume you would just cut them to fit and that they are used for strength. 2. Moped ESC - What does this mean? 3. What kind of shocks are popular. I've seen the inner spring type but i'm not sure if the work well. 4. Any other secrets or hints about WK Crawlers? |

1. These shafts work great on the WK. I had to cut about 1/4 inch off of each.(With a 14 inch WB.) http://www.tcscrawlers.com/4951x-Hal...4-p-16294.html 2. I am not 100% sure but i just thought it was a brand. I run Tekin FX-R's. The best drag brake on any Crawler ESC i have used so far. 3. Losi crawler shocks. Inner spring kind are usally referred to as droop. I run my scaler like that, but both comp rigs have losi crawler shocks. 4. You can run the axial Over/under drive gears in your rig. Makes it turn better and crawl steep slopes better. (Front end turns faster than rear so it kinda pulls it around.) Figure out if you want a comp rig or a scale rig and just read up on all the good info in here.!! | |
