Well since DNA was dragging there feet on the new comp chassis, I made my own take on it. Step one, machine rough skid plate Next, machine rough side plates Next, Bolted it together Then took the bottom to the belt sander The skid plate after I put it on a diet Got the shocks and trans mounted The assembled chassis ended up being exactly 2" wide. I could narrow it another 1/4", but I like having some "meat" to thread into on the transmission mounts. Next up is mounting the motor between the front links! Thanks for looking! TOM |

Well here is a picture of the motor plate I carved out. Setting the spur & pinion play is kind of a PITA... Got the links mounted up, now shes a roller! All thats left is mounting the electronics and bolt on body posts! Thanks for looking! TOM |

Very cool! I'm getting impatient for the DNA chassis as well, but lack the skills you have to grind one out for myself. Looking forward to seeing how this one works!

Great job! on the whole build, what a perfect way to lower the CG with that motor plate located in front.

With the MIP drivelines I'm running, a 540 motor wouldn't fit at all. I have just enough room for the 400 sized cobalt motor and 96t spur. I won't ever go back to a normal 540 motor after running this cobalt though... For only $40, it's the best thing money can buy. TOM |

Alright, I feel bad cause I haven't updated my build in forever It has been driving real well ever since I softened up the dampening in the shocks. Even with the 30wt oil it was way too stiff. Here are some pics with it all running The plastic motor plate I made had way too much flex so my friend helped out by machining one out of 1/4" Aluminum Here is the next addition to the Wheeny King... The plate to get the Eritex dig to mount to my WK trans should be finished up tomorrow! I'm having my friend cut out 10 in case anyone is interesting in going over the top with a WK trans like I am Hopefully I will have more progress this week to post up! TOM |

I am still running mine with my homemade dig. I have actually won a comp and finished in the top 4 in all of them. I would like to know how that dig setup comes out. I have been waiting for one from 2 folks for a long time. If it will fit the dig in the chassis i would love to try one out. |

I have been waiting for one of the BWD chassis also. Its killing me! I would be interested in one of the dig adapters too. Especially if it would fit in the BWD chassis. By the way does the BWD chassis have a name?

I should be picking up the adapter plates tomorrow. Hopefully get it all thrown together by Sunday! The BWD chassis is called the "WK Pro Chassis Kit" Mine is a litte different take on it, since I like to run the shorter Revo Shocks More pics to come later this week! |

I just drew it all by freehand on a piece of graph paper. Then used double tape to stick the graph paper onto the Delrin. If I can find some time I wouldn't have any problem drawing up a template on the computer. It wasn't hard at all to make, just took a scroll saw, drill press and a machinest vice on the drill press with a funky cutting bit (about $45 total for the bit and vise at harbor freight) TOM

The single 454 (400 size) has gobs of wheel speed and is kinda lacking down low. I am currently running a 480 size 12turn Promax Cobalt. It looks like they aren't making them anymore though. But you can still get an 11 turn. Personally, I think the 480 size is perfect for power, size and weight. TOM

The wheel speed is insaine. People are always like, "what kind of brushless set-up do you have?" I have mine set up with CKRC trans gears, (slightly lower geared than stock) Axial underdrive gears on the rear axle, and 12/91 gearing on the spur. And I might go back to a 96t spur for a smoother operation down low. But it's fast enough I can jump it! I should take some video this week when go crawling... And as for batteries... I'm running a 1300mah 3 cell LiPo with a 25C rating through a Tekin FX-R. I wouldn't go any less mah or have any lower C rating. Run times are around 30 to 40 min depending on how much ass I'm hauling. Hope this helps, TOM |
