Question Just Got a Crawler King - Quick Bumper & ESC Question/Help Please

Hey guys, I just picked up a very nice Crawler King off eBay for very cheap. It's got the LR Defender body and already has some weight added to the front and rear tires. I just had to add a battery pack.

So 2 quick questions for you guys:

1. I see a lot of people using the Savage bumpers and I want to do the same. However, is it safe to assume that all the Savage bumpers (25, SS, X, XL) are the same width, so they should all work fine on this LR Defender body? (I can't remember if they are or not)

2. With the stock ESC, can it handle a 7 cell 8.4 volt pack?

Thanks in advance guys for the help.

If you use a 7 cell with the stock ESC be careful cause I blew mine pretty easily.

THe Crawler Kings ESC from all I have read in its manual says its designed for the 6 cell packs. But if you do go ahead and run the ESC on a 7 cell then you might be okay, but Id watch it alot and just be careful. USually 1 cell difference doesnt blow them up or make them fail. But HPI hasnt said too much on anything over the 6cell packs. Id ask them directly in teir support line. 1-888-349-4474 is their support line number and Ive never had an issue with them in any questions Ive had. Also you can change the ESC out for a better one that allows voltage of higher ratings, and cell numbers that are more numerous. good luck!!

A lot of stock esc's are made fairly cheap to keep the cost of the RTR's down. But as far as HPI goes. Im not sure if they have a special crawer esc in it. I know the one with the Blitz will work on 7 cell since it will run on 2s lipo.

The front and rear are setup for the mounting of light buckets and a lightbar.

Any of the Savage bumpers will work - whether its a nitro model or the Flux.

I will take some pics and post them.

After operator error (me), etc., etc., etc., I got all the pics for the bumpers.
I will put them in my p-bucket albums, and post the link - give me a few.

Okay, I finally got off of my butt. After studying the pics, feel free to ask any questions.

Not a problem, sorry for the delay. It took me a while to figure out, as I first tried attaching them to the chassis, and that was full of all sorts of problems.
