| Re: 40 Series on WK? 23mm Adapter?
I'm now running 2.2 PL TSL's on this rig (pic is w/1.9 Boggers)... but I've been thinking of 3.2 Mashers, 3.8 Big Joe's or even 40's. I'm building it strictly for bashing |

| Re: 40 Series on WK? 23mm Adapter? unique? Come on now be honest, you think I'm a little crazy right? I know right before I posted the pictures I thought, "holy crap this thing looks ridiculous!", and then I figured who cares it's only money right? ...and you know what? I still have the stock axle shafts up front and they haven't broken! ...yet I guess I'll have to try harder! I do have a big brushless motor coming in the mail. We'll see if that will do the trick! |

| Re: 40 Series on WK? 23mm Adapter? Sweet, go for it! More pics! Are those Wraith axles on that rig? I'd definitely like to see how the wider axles would look with big 40 series on them.

a little crazy, yes, but still, until someone comes up with something stronger than stock, I don't see much lasting past larger 2.2's for long. that said, I run maxx sized tires on both of my WKs.

Well I got the new brushless in the mail yesterday and so far I have only just done a little "house wheeling" on the stairs, the wall, over some shoes, etc. The only thing I've managed to break has just been the rear drive shaft. That only just snapped at the yoke, which also happened to be the last stock WK part of the rear shaft. It needed to be upgraded to Maxx stuff anyway, which I had on hand already thanks to my Slash 4x4 Trophy Truck. I haven't had a lot of time to really tweak the motor settings or push the truck yet so we'll see. I think what is really saving my drivetrain is my Revo slipper clutch I installed last year. I can't remember breaking a front axle shaft since the upgrade. But like I said, I'll keep trying! |

Oh yeah, the brushless motor I am running is a Hobby King 870kV outrunner. It is meant to be used on an airplane for those that don't know. According to the website it is "designed to be a direct swap out for your 25 size glow engine." So it's pretty dang powerful and its about the same size as a 540 motor but with a 5mm shaft. It's made totally different than a typical brushless I'm used to. It looks similar to a brushed motor in that it has a central stator on the shaft with magnets attached to the can. Also, this beast has 12 sets of windings compared to the 3 sets in a brushed motor! It's also kinda weird, on an outrunner motor every thing spins with the shaft except the mounting plate where the 3 wires come out. Also, the shaft can be moved in and out of the can allowing me to push it out the other end of the can opposite what the picture below shows. ...more to follow. If I were to ever build a Summit, I'd try that too!
