That Onyx puffed within 8 months while running the exact same electronics package you would get in the then current Slash plus shorter gearing, so I can't in good faith recommend them. The truck now has the 1/10 Velineon system that had been in my 1/16 Traxxas Fiesta until this past spring (since been replaced with a SV1/4600 2 pole that had been in my Tamia M03 Mini Cooper), so I am planning on going with a high C-Rated 3000+ mAh 3s this time, maybe Thunder Power.

| Re: Monster KING! Grave Robber http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6...erWKheadon.jpg do you think a 3s will fit in there? just a curios question... does it still do a lot of wheelies with the suspension stretched? |

I know a 3s will fit, I actually had the then slightly puffed 3250mAh 3s 45c that I had run in my Mini Cooper when it had the SV1/4600 2-Pole and it fit perfectly, even though it was bulged! It never wheelied with the 12t/XL5 combo, even on 3s since I had left the battery up front. Doubt it will happen now since I didn't change the layout then added a whole lot more tire. |

Made a few more changes to the truck, added a Traxxas Tubez Revo TieRods to the front the used a Stampede aluminum tie rod for the drag link, installed a Hot Racing Servo Mount withba low profile Savox servo (may eventually donthat out back too), as well as Savage shocks and springs, which allowed me to drop the body down as low as it'll go. I do plan on adding E-Savage springs, since they'll drop it a hair and hopefully be a bit softer than the S21 fl. red springs, might even put the VXL3s ESC down where the servo went to lower CG a bit now that itnsits higher. And now for the pics! This is how it looked after the red tierods and serve setup were installed, that's the shocks sitting on the roof in this one too. And here it is with the Savage shocks installed! |

Been a while since I did it, but I got the shorter E-Savage (also know as the E-Zilla) springs and some Hot Racing 110mm limiting straps, dropped it back down to a more reasonable altitude than with the S21 springs. I did a little test driving today, looks like I might need to gear it up some to take advantage of the power and torque of the Velineon system on 3s, went WFT on asphalt and it stood up on the back of the body and flopped over on it's side in little over it's own now extended length! I do have a set of the Proline 17.5mm Brawler rims on back order and just got in a set of Destroyer tires in for it. I do need to order a set of disks for Vaterra's V100 sedans to use as a mock pinion brake and eventually a new a Robber body with a few other goodies planned for that |

Maybe I've just had my head under a rock, but that is the first time I've seen a servo disguised that way. I like it, it looks good. Nice looking rig.

There are at least a few mud trucks on here like that, just had to ape it for this build though!

Truck is looking good. I'm glad that I am not the only one still running the WK. Have you done much running with those wheels? it looks like the offset is fairly substantial. How are the axles holding up with them? |

Thanks, I haven't run it much in this current form, as I'm having issues with the VXL3s' BEC not handling the draw of the servos all that well, but ztrength won't be an issue since I'm running the sintered gears and RCP/MIP CVD's on both ends. Hopefully the knuckles and C's hold up, if not, I'll look at RCP for those too.
