Default my HPI crawler king transformation

Hi all, I am new here and have been following a few of the threads, especially the ultimate crawler king thread. I have a crawler king I am beginning to upgrade and so far I have converted it to the over axle steering servo. I also added headlights and taillights connected to the bat connector on the esc, makes for fun nighttime crawls

I am also converting it to 4 wheel steering and a few other tings I am researching. I will be using this to gain a better understanding of crawling and this project provides for a relatively inexpensive way to do trial and error mods. Thanks for reading this and here are a few pics.

this is bone stock the day I got it

with headlights added

Tail lights

This is the front steering mod which greatly improves steering, with a better servo and the mounting bracket for the axle

it looks as if i will need a reversing servo y-cable for the rear cable, i got one on order, i could have done the solder trick switching to wires on the circuit board, but for 8 bucks, its not worth it to me.

well the rear steering parts are on the way, but I am wondering if dual shocks on each wheel would benefit me in any way, its easy to do, no mods needed...

here is the latest update, the rear steering works, but i am still waiting on the traxxas servo to match the front so they turn at the same rate...right now I have left turn but not right....

well the original servo turns at a different rate than the traxxas, and when I try to center it it wont stay centered, it goes left or right..so I think when I get the matching traxxas servo it will work as it should..

the second shocks are cool looking, but a bandaid imho. Every stock WK or CK shock I've ever had was a pos and leaked from the get-go. Rather than doubling a turd, invest in a good set and I think you'd be surprised how much better it works/happier you are... but, that's just me, I will say, it is different and adds to the "monster" truck theme and "coolness" factor

regardless, I am stoked to see someone excited about building these things, they seem to be obsolete, but with some creativity, they are pretty f-ing fun for the buck.

well the second set of shocks was to make sure the concept will work, and work out the placement issues without spending a small fortune, if it works as I hope, I will invest in some much better shocks for sure!

dual front shocks are in!

so are the rears! the torque twist is gone and it seems to work pretty well, I will tweak it in the days to come, but for now its pretty good!

well, took it out today and ran for awhile in the cold and snow...ended up breaking the original plastic servo-saver arm. I replaced it with an aluminum arm and we will see how long the servo lasts!

it runs really well now with the rear steering conversion and the dual shocks, but I will replace the originals with something better (shocks)

I cant beleive how tight a circle it turns now! about 24 inches in diameter! before it was over 8 ft!
