Ok, shocks? My current HPI factory shocks are beat. I was considering the Hot Racing internal spring air shocks. Anyone have an opinion or suggestion?

Both of mine are still running stock Wheely King shocks with the neon red springs, the ones on the crawler truck are also beat, but I was going to put the ones of the hearse on it and get some Savage 21/25 shocks for that . Those Hot Racing springs look like they're just fancy friction shocks to me.

That's kind of what I was thinking, but the HR Coils look nice and Ebay has them for cheap(er). My shafts are bent on three corners and I'm leaking from two top caps, just finding anything 120mm is tough...

I've noticed the difficulty on finding that stuff any more, that why there's going to be a bit of musical chairs and even more Savage parts with my Kings.

update: Got a mid summer bug to get away from the overly wide tires. Found a nice set of the Axial 8-hole beadlocks and some 2.2 swampers that needed a good home so I found them one. Pics soon.

Mounted and balanced, ended up ditching the stock HPI 12 mm hubs, too deep and plastic...

Axial alloy 12mm hubs in place, perfect fit with Axial Beadlocks.

Realized the wheel base is STUPID long, 14 inches from tire to tire where they hit the ground. Need to figure out the 4-bar link setup.

Pictures tonight.

I had those hexes on my crawler until I put 1.9's on it and still do on the monster, since I haven't gotten the 17mm hexes and rims yet.

Hey, look, I made it back. Latest update, added the Axial 2.2 8-hole beadlocks wrapped in some nice RC4WD Mud Slingers, Axial Hi-Clearance Threaded Aluminum Links and a nice powerful Savox Digital SW-0231 servo to help with the steering. Pics follow:

So it's been a while, but during my free moments recently I have ventured down the Manta Chassis path with some success. Suspension setup is darn near perfect with a 50/50 droop setup using those clicky pen springs and playing with the oil levels, 4-link is perfect with decent flex and travel, wheelbase is dead on at 13.5 inches (still going to shorten the links and get it closer to 12 inches). But last night I ran into a small problem. As anyone who has done this chassis knows, the CK trans and motor are stupid tall, and even clocked it is slightly to wide. So the idea that I remembered seeing here before was the Axial AX10 transmission. My chassis width (inner spacing) is exactly 73 mm. Does anyone have a clue what the overall width of the Axial trans and motor mount is? I think it was right around 65 mm, but cannot find the thread for the life of me. I've added pics of the current status for grins.

So any help would be great guys.
