| My WK comp rig Build, project Stein Steiger (SS)
Well, decided to build my own rig to compete with KingoftheHill (actually got my WK before him, but he got his stuff to make it 4x4 before me) at the upcoming comp at Cougar. Anyway, onto the pics! The axles: WK compared to TLT: Cut out thermoplastic side plates: My stereo setup. A pair of 250w RAMSA moniters, 1000w QSC amp, Yamaha EQ, and a tape deck. I got all of it given to me by a friend. The cool part is, it has a 1/8" mini plug hook up, so I can rock out with my iPoo while working on stuff in the garage. Got bored, so I lit a POS LRP AI speed control on fire: Got back to work on the chassis: More pics will be posted tomorrow! |

More pics! Front axle: BTA on a wheely king... Rear axle: Basic setup: The since the stock shocks are just a wee bit to long (and I don't have the money to buy shorter ones, lol), I limited the down travel with a 3/4" length of fuel tubing: Since I'll be using a stealth tranny, I eliminated the slipper clutch by drilling out the 4-40 holes on one of the plate through to the other plate, then I tapped it to use a 3mm screws, which also hold the spur gear onto the plates: Carnage! Delrin is sharp before you grind it! Another pic update is scheduled for tomorrow! |

Trucks coming along nicely! Do you have a side view pic of the truck so I can see what the caster angle looks like? |

What is your frame material? Is it a plastic laminated between thin aluminum sheet? It looks like a material we used to use doing gas station canopy fabrication. Can't remember what it was called, but that's essentially what it was - 1/8" of light plastic laminated between 2 sheets of 1/16" aluminum sheet. Very light, yet very strong material. Perfect for this application. I wish I still had some of the scrap stock we threw away... |

Excellent looking truck. I'm hoping to get more time to work on mine this weekend. It's supposed to rain, so maybe....
