At under $200, this truck was perfect for my budget. Started off with a bone stock Wheely King that I bought in February. Wasn't long till I got bored of popping wheelies so the tinkering began. I started with the 4WD conversion. ![]() Capable as it was, I still thought the length of the truck was a bit too short. I found my inspiration from all the gnarly builds you guys have been busting out. It needed some length, so I trashed the plastic links. I went 6" for the lower links & 5.5" for the uppers. 14" from axle to axle. (Some of the pics are pretty crappy) ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() For the motor, I am using a Integy 55T with stock radio & ESC. I also slapped on some Imex All-T's with HPI Spike 5 rims. To extend the driveshafts, I went with Traxxas T-Maxx shafts and yokes which fit perfectly. Next step was the steering. With the help of Harley0706's design, I mocked up a version with what materials I had available. Not much but after a couple of hours cutting, shaving & and choking on a pop tart (Really, I choked on a damn POP TART...long story lol), I came up with this... ![]() It seemed that the metal I had used was too thin so for extra strength I made braces out of copper tubing. Thanks to chino438, the new version will be made out of aluminum. Next was the search for a body. I went with the Proline Ford F-650. ![]() Then after a few days of procrastinating, I finally got to start prepping and painting. Here is a mock-up... ![]() ![]() My next step is to mount the body, which I'm asking you all for some help with. What would be the best way to mount it? The position of the front stock body mount would end up hitting the windshield if I where to extend them, but the rear seems fine. Any help would be much appreciate. Comments are welcomed. Laters!

Looks very nice. As for mounting the body it looks like you will have to reposition the front body posts.

The links are made from threaded rods that I bought at a local hardware store & the sleeves are aluminum brake line I picked up from Napa Auto Parts. You might have some luck by checking ebay for the All-t's. BaddClod hooked me up with this set. http://cgi.ebay.com/Set-of-2-Imex-2-...QQcmdZViewItem Last edited by TankFarmer; 04-11-2007 at 09:04 PM.

I'm trying to keep as much of the body as possible. The truck was built to be a basher/mudder.

Yeah, now I gotta fight with myself, on one hand, I'd like to get out of big RC and just play around with small scale, but on the other hand I can't seem to keep myself the hell away from the Wheely King forum.

Thanks for all the props guys! By tonight, I should have the body mounted. This weekend, chino438, myself & some other fellas are heading down to our local 1:1 raceway park. An event called Smokin' Wheels is going down. MX/ATV racing, rail & trophy truck racing, truck mud bogging, rock crawling, autoX, drifting, drag racing.... you name it. This year, finally, they incorporated R/C racing as well. I'll keep you guys informed with pics and other footage as the weekend progresses. LATERS!
