Well the products came in last friday but I didn't get a chance to do anything with them until today because of the long weekend.

Here are some pictures of todays progress. :-P

The start, all ugly'd up.

The new billet upper link mounts.........................SOOOOO SWEET!!!!!

The new transmission!

The new swag all bolted up.....................

The new knuckles, CVD's are also installed already. Need to do some clearancing still.

I will work on getting the dig servo mounted tomorrow probably.

Thanks, I am still waiting on the new TCS aluminum beadlocks and the billet axle C's. When the new wheels get here I am going to switch to Losi Rock Claws and I am going to try the Red Squishy Foams (I hear good things ).

I should be ready for the next gtg or comp, I am just really hoping for wheels to get done soon. I really want to get the track width narrowed up.

The wheels are going to be sold by TCS and are made by Billetworks. He is the same one who made the wheels for JIA's Dad for the cobra. They look amazing, and should look even better once I can get some powder coat on them

I don't think the plastic will wear out, the king pins will hold the knuckle centered for the most part, the spacers will add little support but will be there when they are needed.
The upper link mounts are sweet for sure! They are actually one of my favorite little pieces on here now. They look sweet, and are much better then the stock piece. Adding them actually made my pinion angle line up perfectly too (it was a little high before). I will have them on all of my WK's from now on.

I plan to try and get the dig servo mount designed tonight, if it gets built or not is another thing. I think I am going to have a problem getting a collar on the shift rod while using max shafts. I need to do a little research and see what people are doing.

I can't wait for these wheels, they are going to make this a whole different rig. I am going to put the rock claws on them with some of the kreepy red foams, I have heard it is a killer setup.

I went to the hobby shop last night and picked up some collars for the shifting rod on the trans. I want to get it finished up this weekend (minus wheels of course :-()so I can hit the rocks with it again soon.

The R2 with disconnect is in and is working GREAT. Best addition that I have added yet. I came up with a very simple and secure mount. I am going to have t redo the hood panel though, I am probably going to hack the existing one to fit around the servo and then have a new set of panels painted soon.

I also ordered a new set of shocks, simply polished aluminum, no blue anodizing. When the new wheels are done pretty much all the blue will be gone then, I liked it at first but am ready for something different.

I will upload pictures of the servo mount in a few mins.

I was using the polycarbonate as mock up material, but there is actually no noticeable flex so I think it will stay.

Again sorry I didn't get the greatest pics, I did this all last night between 12 and 3 AM.

I took the plastic cover off the R2 and traced the width, I made the piece taller then the cover by about an inch. I marked the holes for the cover to attach back to the transmission.

Next I mocked up the linkage, I wanted to keep it as low as possible to get the maximum force from the servo. I set it so at the 4wd setting the shift rod was almost touching the transmission case.

I marked the holes where the TLT servo mounts would need to attach and drilled the holes in the polycarbonate. Then I had to countersink a hole in the R2 cover so that the screw that holds on the lower servo mount wouldn't push the polycarbonate away from the dust cover.

It works perfectly, it seems to engage and disengage consistently well. I am using my MX3 and it only is set up for a two position switch, so right now I only have it setup for 4wd or dig with rear brake.

Template is almost ready guys. Will only take a few more minutes. If anyone is going to want it shoot me an e-mail. I need someone to test fit it though, it can be a normal R2 too, just need to make sure the holes on the dust cover line up. I don't have a printer here at home (yeah $15,000 worth of software and no printer, I'm an idiot).

I will try and get it hosted if it is a success.
