Default close to final RATKING!!!

Well I have been reading the forums for a while posted a few PICS of my Basher. Well RATKING was born today.
WB 14"
motor 35t
moab 2.2 (star cut foams)
Chasis Custom Alum.
ride height 3"
4 link suspension (tamiya shock mounts)
Stock elect (other than motor)

Took it for a test drive everything held up great! We will see tommorow exactly how it crawls. I made the Alum chasis with a table Plasma burning machine I have at work and just drilled holes. The battery is still inthe back. My plan is to just add weight up front and see how she does. Off course I used Tamiya suspension mounts. These things are awesome. Well any comments would be great!!!

well, Went to a dry creek bed today. Lots of pointed rocks. Bottomed out a few times. I raised the ride height up. ( thanx to that alum chasis, drill a hole anywhere. ) That helped a lot. The Added weight to the front wheels did awesome on inclines (fishing weights glued to inside of wheels.) The only thing is that from the locked rear the plastic hex part of 1 of the wheels started to round out. Overall not too top heavy and did pretty good. Wil have to get PICS next time. Had some good lines. Where can I fine rules for crawling. 2.2's?

what's up, Been messing around. I put a 16t pinion gear in with the 90t spur gear today. a bit slower. WHAT would be the difference if I moved up to a 93T gear?????????? I also shortend the wheel base to 13.25" My alum chasis seems to be working pretty good. Not too heavy it seeems. I added fishing weights secured with plumbers putty to the front wheels for weight the other day, I just added more weight by just using the putty itself. This stuff is great mix it by hand, even used it in locking up the rear diff. A lot less mess that jb weld, it sets up fast also. I am thinking of using the POSTER PUTTY STUFF in the front diff. Just need some good wheels now. I stripped the plastic hex with the hpi wheels I have in the locked rear. I replaced with the WK hex's they seem to be better. Anyway will try to get PICS ip this weekend!!!!

I used poster putty to lock up the diffs and I guess I learned a couple of things... Clean out the grease before you put in the putty because I think it breaks down the putty.
After maybe two battery packs the diffs were unlocked again!
I forced some more putty in there but once again it wasn't long until they were unlocked.
Then I learned that the stuff is really hard to remove! I scraped out all I could and used a glue gun this time.
If this doesn't last, I'll use epoxy like everyone says to use.

Yeah I was thinking of using the poster putty for a semi locker. I do not want the front totaly locked. I use plumbers silicone grease in my diffs it is extra thick. (can get it at lowes or home depot) will see if that breaks down the putty.

Thanks for the heads up! If the hot glue treatment lets go, I'll do it.

Let us know how the plumbers silicone grease holds up!

I think it safe to say that the SILICONE PLUMBERS GREASE from LOWES DOES NOT break down the POSTER PUTTY. It has been a few eeeks now countless runs still works great!! Would it be safe to say that if your rig is top heavy, then you would want to run a thinner oil in the shocks to avoid flips????????

You know this thing does not do too bad. It is not as heavy as it looks. I used light weight oil in shocks, (to help out the slightly high cog) weighted the front tires and body. It does pretty good I am running a 35t with 93/16 gearing. Pretty nice in mud and rocks. Overall I am pleased. When I get bored I might drop a 55t and change the gearing to serious climbing. Until then, this thing is a blast. 13.25" wheelbase now. Removable skid plate. That is what is nice about the custom frame, drill mounting holes anywhere!!
