| Well, I got a new off the shelf WK 4x4 and have been playing with it stock. I slapped the 6.5" tall k'rocks on the offset maxx rims from my first WK crawler on it and was supprised that it will still do dead stop wheelstands even with the extra tire weight. with about half a pack thru it I clocked it at 11mph, so the motor is lagging a little trying to push the extra tire around. the stock servo does ok swinging them for now. even at the end of the battery pack I could get it to do the reverse to forward wheelstand. I took some video, link will go up later if anyone wants to see my fat azz kicking the thing back upright. I have a few Ideas about what I want to do with this one. I am gooing to play with it a little at a time. servo plates, 4ws, motor polarity swap to turn it around, then extend the links on one end for more of a 60/40 look. when I get done playing with that, I may get crazy with it and make it more of a 70/30 split and put the k'rocks back on it. I think this will be the donor for a scale rig, and I have been thinking about trying to get axle parts to make a 6x6 out of it, but then I look at how many unfinished plastic models I have because I hate slowing down to do the detail work, and that it the point of a scale rig, the details. of course I have also thought about making a 2 rod style torsion chassis for it, laying the motor and tranny on it's side and flatening everything to make the whole chassis and everything only as thick as the motor plate, center it with the axles, and throwing the 6.5" krocks on it so it will run no matter which end is up. I dunno, maybe I should have made this a poll |
