Default Max wheelbase

What is the max wheelbase you can have and still use a stock revo driveshaft? Has anyone sleeved a driveshaft to allow for alonger wheelbase.

thanks.

i get my wk in friday and i am starting to plan out a build. I'm new to crawlers but not to rc.

if you can get enough drive shafts so you can extend it you could make it 100+' long of you want, but its realy not nesesery for it to be 100'.j/k. if you want to make a comp rig you can have up to 12.5" of wband if ya want a super you can have any legnth you want

i'm not gonna be in any comps with it so wheelbase length is basically going to be determined by how far i can go before its too far. I am looking at around a 14" wheelbase. (What i am guestimating will be somewhere in the vicinity of what i want)

I will know more once i get it here. Now on to driveshafts. I am sure i can sleeve it to make it as long as i need but i want to maintain driveshaft integrity. ( I snapped tmaxx shafts like they were made of wax when i was running the OS .18tm)

I plan on using either revo pushrods or savage tie rods for my links. (lunsford with LST2 shock ends)

You will probably end up shortening the revo shafts if you want a 14" WB.

I have a 14.5 inch WB right now, I am using regular long maxx shafts the rear only has about 1/2" of overlap at full extension, but the WK slipper lets go before the shaft does.

if you use revo shafts, you will be shorting them. But pretty bullet proof. Check out my sig.

I am gonna wait until i decide what kind of chassis to use. I don't want to buy links and whatnot to extend the stock chassis and then have to redo it when i go with a new chassis.

any suggestions?

so those will work even though they say its for a tlt? I saw where a guy used mugen shock towers and it looked great. I have some nova shock towers from a savage but if a bender will work then i'll scoop that up instead.

I wouldn't worry about what how long you can get with those shafts untill you decide 2.2 or max size. If you go 2.2 I wouldn't go longer the 12.5 range, unless you use All-T's then maybe 14 would be ok.

Just cut the shafts and run something in that range.

thats what i was thinking.

i placed a few orders today.
picked up the following to get me started.
Traxxas driveshafts
12 feet of dubro 4-40 all thread
4 allthread couplers
dubro HD rod ends
96t spur
pushrod spacers
robinson racing pinion 6 pack (15t-25t)
integy 45t lathe motor
gonna try to use an rc18b shock as a steering link/servo saver

I have some nova shock towers for a savage that i am going to use as a possible chassis. As well as a few other parts from the savage. i have a 200oz metal geared airtronics steering servo and some other stuff
