Default project: budget torsion

So I have a handful of Ideas kicking around for what I want to do with my second WK.

This edition is budget torsion.

I removed the suspension, took out the servo tray and battery box, took off the bumpers, flopped the whole chassis on it's side, and bolted it to the axles, just squeezing in the sides till they met.

I stuck the servo tray back in with minor modification, and made an althread 6/32 link. I am using 118mm revo? links for lateral stabilization.

this has got 12-3/8" WB, overall height is 6.5", OA width 12-1/4", OA flex is about 3-1/4"

the female shaft ends on the axles were changed to the long maxx shafts, the tranny end are stock.

I'm not happy with the battery placement, and if theis were a permanent setup, I'd modify the pack to fit betwenn the rails. as it is its good enough.

on to the pics to keep the thread from being worthless, video link at the end.

You maybe in to something. That could be great in a comp???? But it would have to have a body or be a tuber. With the curent rules hard to make legal.

actually I had looked into a body for that layout, the lowrider dancer body at tower.
the body is 2.7" tall at the hood and trunk, and 3.7 at the roof, AND they were on sale for $14 at tower. I thought about getting two of them and cutting them down and put one on top and one on bottom, paint one black, and one white and use a gothic font style with something hokey like "Flipseid" or something.

the closest gtg/comp is an hour and a half away, and I'm moving to st louis in about 2 weeks, so it probably isn't goping to happen.

thanks for the interest.

you'd have to reinforce the roof or change the roof with/to delrin probably to act as a skid plate!
