Default Newbie here- some questions

Hello, I have been into r/c for around 15 years. I am looking to try something new. Getting a little tired of nitro and looking to go back to electric, I want to try my hand at rock crawling. The wheely king looks like the perfect way to go and keep things on a budget.

I really would like to know a few things though.
What is a Clocked tranny? What are the benifits?
What is a Chicken butt servo?
There are so many different chassis designs, What are the better types?
I will probably stick with the stock chassis for a while it seems to be a decent setup.

What do you guys think about Cirrus servos?

I have a Tekin rebel esc would it handle a lathe motor?

Any help you could give would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks Veewee

On a Wheely King, it refers to moving the motor so it's mounted beside, rather than above, the tranny, for a lower C.G.

It's a Tower Pro MG995 servo that Double J (vendor on the board) was selling, I don't think he carries them any more, but I think JP Customs is selling them, or you can buy them off EBay, shipped from Hong Kong.

Aluminum angle or channel in a torsion design, traditional 4 link, and music wire (BMVII) are the most popular

Lots of people do, look through the builds in this section

Haven't used one, but buy the best servo you can afford, period. Cutting corners on a servo will hurt you more than any other part of your crawler.

Yes.

Why buy off of Fleabay when numerous vendors sell MG945s/MG995?

Im really not sure. I like the looks of both types of rigs, But right now im just thinking of taking a break from anything competitive and just going for fun.

Is either type better than the other? or just preference?
