Default dumb question

Sorry, but i have been trying to remove the stock driveshafts from the axle and i am having absolutely no luck. Is there a special tool that i need? I know to some this may be a dumb question but this is the only thing keeping me from running my wk. I will post pics as soon as i get the new shafts mounted. Do i need to take the axle apart again? Thanks in advance.
