Default Yet another BMV II WK build, this is a keeper!

Thought Id make a WK crawler using as much of the WK as possible

I mounted the BMV ll chassis by using the link and shock mounts and just made a small 3/8" wedge that fits into the link mount and the BMV ll bolts too, very easy and very quick.

here are a few pics, should be done for this weeks comp

wheelbase adjustable from 12" to 12.5"

right at 6" of flex

behind the axle steering

rear lock outs inside also

here you can see the simple wedge mounts

still have to mod the axles for clearance, and the mounts also, hook up the electronics. and install them red squishy's

These BMVs seem really cool... I'm leaning toward this with my new wk.

What are the rods made of and what diameter are you using? Looks very clean. Kreepy and I are working on a lower link/shock mount for the wk axle that yer gonna love. Should have em ready to show in about a week.

Well after testing the rig it was apparent that I needed more weight in each wheel, the BMVII works best with about an equal bias corner to corner.

I ended up with a total weight tire/wheel combo of right at 10. oz

total weight of the rig with batteries RTR is right at 5.5 lbs

Articulation is right at 60* now

clearance is 3 1/4" with moabs and foams at center plate

wheel base is adjustable from 11 3/4" to 12 1/2" with the twist of Allen wrench

weight bias is now 50/50 but by moving the center plate froward can go 65/35

balance is perfect now side to side.

a few more pics

here is a better view of the wedges I made to fit the BMV II chassis to the WK brackets

they re basically 1/2" tall x 5/16" wide and 1 1/4" long

Any body on pics?? I really like the simple design of the chassis, and from what I've read they perform really well. Might have to try one soon. Looks great!!

well here she is ready for todays comp, sitting on my kitchen counter. pre distressed paint job

the rig is still a little wide for my liking at 11", When MSD makes up out custom beadlocks Ill be running right at 10"

probably running narrowed pede rears for Nationals to get my width down

the rig performed flawlessly today at the comp and getting me the series win....cant say enough about the BMVII, its how a torsion rig should work!

there are wire stops in slots built into the plates that hold the axles and the tranny

Here is my super class BMV style. you can see the wire keeper in the rear plate
