Default BrandO built comp tuber, Prototype #1

I have been wanting to build a comp style tuber for a while now. I was inspired by some of the rigs built by Gimbal, RCP, and Kamakazi. I drew something up a few months back. But just didn't have the time and the drawings sat on my desk. Well I finally had some free time so here it is.

Wheely king axles
Stock wheely king upper link.
RC4wd R2 tranny
HH Crawlmaster motor
Mamba Maxx esc
maxx drive shafts
Full droop Losi shocks
8 cell crawler store battery
Tube and fab work by me.

I already figured some of the things I will do different on the next one. And after some testing I might learn something. But so far I am liking the way it turned out. Next weekend is our next comp here in NC. So that will be the true test. Trial by fire for sure.

Looks good man. I like the servo mounted facing the back, less chance of linkage getting hung up on stuff

Nice work, I love how clean it is. You can't beat the looks of the minimalist tubers either.

Nice. Are the shocks mounted to the servo mount?

Thanks for the coments guys. The front shocks are link mounted. And the rear shocks are mounted to the plate on the axle. Upper and lower links mount to the same plate. Actually use tlt axle stays to mount the lower links and rear shocks. I can't wait to see how it does on the rocks.

Ya, the drag link and linkage took a little trial and error. I have run these axles and steering on an SW2. It worked well the first time out. But because of the long servo horn you need a pretty stout servo. I really like the wheely king axles. Just need to find some wheels that will narrow up the tread width a little.

The rear shock mount is formed sheetmetal. Same as the link mounts.
