starting a SW3 WK(thanks for the quik shipping BENDER). I'll probably figure the lower links out tonight and start up again in the morning. Had to recess part of the skid and drill 2 holes. The WK tranny fits like a glove. Let me know what you think so far...

hey thats awesome.. i just ordered an sw3 chassis in black and should be here like 2morrow.. let us know how it works and definatly post what links are needed to make it 12.5" wb... because that is all i need to get are links.. i also just picked up an r2 tranny and lockers.. and a set of big bore xxl shocks. i also made my own lower link/shock mounts for the axle with 5 hole positions. they are delrin and i made them at work. now i am designing a bta steering set-up that will increase the steering throw as well as being out of the way from rocks.. i will post my progress after i get started... but good luck with your build and hope you are satisfied with the results..

I put a little more weight up front so the front links are a little shorter than the rear. Gonna redo all the lower links out of delrin after I test this configuration. Looks OK like this: 3.5" front lowers 4.25" rear lowers(stock WK) 12.5" wheelbase 3.125" center ground clearance right now with no body on yet, should drop a lil bit.

Does your motor hang completly outside the frame!? The only aftermarket chassis i've ever seen was a RBX with a pede trans so i dont know if this is common...

I'm running the same chassis with a Pede tranny and it hangs over a little. The corner weights good question, I have never checked them don't think it makes much difference. I will say the SW3 is one heck of a chassis for a comp rig. Light easy to work on you can get tools on every nut. You can pull the tranny in a few minutes. If you break during a comp you only get 30 minutes to make repairs so that makes a big difference. It's on the rocks preformance is cat like

BTW, in case no one noticed, my SW3 has a full length skid. Other than having to clearance a little for the shafts, I think I like it. | |

not much left now. Gotta lock the diffs, paint and mount the body, get some of the flex out. WAY too much flex for me. If I like the link length(say that 3 times fast) I will make my lowers high clearance Delrin.

heres a better idea of how much flex it has and how much I think I like. Still gotta cut the axial lizzard foams and add weight to the rims too. I thought the list was getting shorter, but it keeps getting longer.........:-(

Nice job making the stock tranny work. Some fuel line on the shock shafts will limit your travel.
