They will both work the same, but the jb weld works cheaper!

hot glue will temporarily lock it. and will have limited slip till it gets chewed up.

Hot glue works great as long as you dont leave any space for it to move or break up. Hot glue can be removed too! I have used nothing but hot glue in many different transmissions and differentials without any failures. Just be sure everything that is being glued is clean, dry and oil free then pack it in there tight. Do not leave any open areas. I just use hobby grade clear sticks, but the black ABS sticks work the best if you have the right gun for it.

At Home Depot they sell an two part metal epoxy for ~$3. I used it in both front and rear axles. It is more the consistency of clay, instead of a thick liquid like JB Weld. All I did was make some 1/4" diameter balls and mash them into the pumkin around the spider gears. Then filled in any necessary spots. Then cleaned up where the axles will be. The one problem with the epoxy is, it is soft for only 5 minutes. After ~5 minutes it will be as hard as steel. It works great for me.

Yes they will. I'd just buy these or the ones that a couple other vendors sell and be done with it. I JB Welded mine when I built em becuase nothing else was available. JB Weld works great but takes longer.

Ditto on what Spydermonkee says:

"RCGuy lockers cant be beat."

Too simple - open up the diffs, drop in the lockers and forget about it!! As they say "No fuss, no muss"

If you use hot glue or JB weld, get out as much of the empty space in there as you can by putting a little of the locking compound of your choice in first, then rotate the gears a bit to work it in, then complete filling the diff. I think the reason for failures is air gaps in the diff.
