Default Crawling speed controller

What would be a good speed controller for crawling in a wheely king for under $50? I was looking at the Traxxas xl-10, is it any good? Thanks.....

you might look for a used tekin rebel III on ebay, or somthing, but not much for under $50 as far as new. most all esc will "drive" your rig without over heating, given you are running 55t+ motor, but it will not have desireable crawler features like, 0 delay foward/reverse, and drag brake, plus most general esc's only supply 4.8v and 1.5 amps to your servos, as to most of the "crawler" esc's provide 6.0v and 5amps

this is probably one of the most vital things on a crawler, I would suggest saving your pennies, and going with a mamba or a novak rooster crawler ed, i have a rooster and am very pleased with it. it will be worth it down the road

I ended up getting a Duratrax Intellispeed. So far I like it.
