| I finally reached the point in my build that I could hook up my electronic (all stock WK), and what a ya know, my motor is in a coma. As soon as I hook up the battery, the motor (yes its the motor and not the ESC) starts to beep. I put my ear on the motor and the sound is coming from inside. I have used the search on this forum to only find people saying their ESC is beeping and therefore has a connection issue with the motor. My steering is alive and well. Before the build, the whole setup has shown common near death signs described in other threads, so I guess my questions are: 1. Should I take it apart and look for a short or disconnected wire? 2. Scrap the stocker and get a new one a. which esc would all you out there recommend and why? Thanks |

| Hmm, I was going to say it's the beeps coming from a brushless motor...but then I re-read what you wrote and saw that it's the stock electronics.:-( Never heard of a brushed motor "beeping" |

| Your ESC is dead. Mine did the same thing. It worked fine when I took it out, (well, sorta, it was showing signs of going bad, I had thermal'd it several times, so I replaced it with a Moped ESC) but I went to put it into my Touring Car and... nothing. It did the same thing your was doing. I had steering, but the motor just sat there and beeped. I don't know what happened between when I took it out and when I tried to use it again, but it was definitely DOA. I would personally recomend the Moped. I love mine. And they're Cheap, to boot! If a guy had more $$$ to spend, a lot of guys swear by the Novak Rooster Crawler edition. Plus it has a drag brake, which is soemthing I wish the Moped had. | With my Mamba Max I get a very faint beep from the motor when it is booting up with a lathe. But after it is armed it works. If it doesn't work for you it may be a hung brush. Try spinning the motor by hand, then give it juice. And yes, I do realize that you are using stock equipment, I was just stating that beeping from a motor is not too uncommon. And for the ESC recommendation, a Mamba Max is what about 90% of us are using for brushed and brushless. You also need to get a 55T lathe. I hope that helps somewhat.
