| Another (hopefully last) question
I have all of my parts in mind for my build, I just need to know compatability now. I know that there are better trannys than the stock WK, but to save costs, and to get it goin, I'd like to use the stock tranny for now. I was looking around at different chassis' and I really like the XRC chassis, with the High clearance links. My question is... Will the stock WK tranny work with the Xrc Chassis? I did a little searching and found that another member on here used the xrc chassis for his build, but he used a pede tranny. I also noticed that he made releif cuts in the skidplate for the driveshafts. Will I need releif cuts? I am 100% ok with modding things to make them work, I love doing it, just doing a little research before I get started Thanks, Greg |

A few words. the stock tranny sucks. just get an axial tranny which I've seen for $33 shipped, you just have to do some looking.

Other than the stock configuration which makes the motor mount nice and high (which is really the plate, not the tranny) ... what is so bad about the WK transmission?

| Are you freakin nutz??? Thats great gearing for when you need the wheelspeed for bumping up and over obsticles. I personally like the tranny for crawling... I thought you were gonna say something like it configuration is not good for crawling. All the wheely king tranny needs is a new case and more Pinion and Spur choices(Already have that solution) .LOL not much!! |

| No, not really. I have been running the stock trans in my Widow now for some time and I love it. I beat the snot out of my rig too. Like said, the only downfall for the "stock" trans setup is that motor plate...unless you clock it or even lay it down. That's why there are so many wonderful spurs, pinions, and motors on the market. Quote:
