Default new wheely king, have question

got my first crawler today for $200
its a wheely king extened to 13.5" center to center, custom 4 link, locked diffs, geared and 65 turn intergy motor, 2.2 swamp dogs on bead locks, battery and sefvo on front axle, and t-maxx shocks......one thing i oticed is it dosnt articulate as good as my friends stock shocked one, i think the shocks have the wrong oil in there because the shocks can go up about anuther 1/2" but they stop because there no weigh added....should i just dump all the oil out and run it oilless in the shocks ?
pictures are here http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_6786715/tm.htm

T-Maxx shocks are 100 mm while stock WK shocks are 120 mm, can it be the reason why you are loosing some articulation ?
Or is it just that the shocks rod does'nt compress completely into the shock body ?

sounds like the springs are to stiff. try taking them out and trying it with out springs. oil should not stop them from moving it just to slow the movement down and help the rebound etc. of the shock.

You might just have too much oil in your shocks bodies.
Remove the shock, take the spring out and push on the shaft so it goes inside the body. The shaft should go in there easily without returning extended (or very little rebound).

This sounds like the issue to me. Maybe you should trim your springs a little

Take them apart and check for fuel tubing or internal springs. They may be limited on purpose

I really don't see how this can stop a shock from moving.

i dont really understand it either but it is true, i see it all the time.
for some reason if u over fill them they will act like a progressive spring making it harder as the shock gets more compressed.
