Default RC4wd Aluminum Suspension Upgrade

To go along with my front dig setup I got this kit, just for the aluminum upper arms. I'm having issues with it and I'm wondering if anyone else is/did.

When you look on their website, they show two different versions of the upper A-arms. The first one looks like it fits:

The second one they picture:

I got the second version ... here they are compared to the stock pieces:

If you look just to the right ofthe rear yoke in this picture, you can see how far off the arm is from reaching the other side.

Has anyone else purchesed this kit? If so, did your arms line up? I already sent them an email so hopefully I'll get a response soon.

You mean you expected something to work or come complete from RC4WD?

Not to rip on them, but they need to start checking on the quality of their products.

I have thought of making somthing similar for mine, the stock plastic ones with extensions on them allow a lot of sideways movement.
Kinda off the subject, but I have a question for you. With all the mods you have done to this thing, why are you still using stock style steering?
Not trying to bag, just wondering. Is there some somthing I am missing? The stock bellcrank setup seemed like it took away too much away from the steering setup to me.
BTW, I like the detailed tech writeups on your mods, I have used them for reference a couple times myself.
I am the guy that bought the jeep windjammer from you when you were still in BR.

Ah, hey man. I miss LA food.

Yeah they do allow for a lot of movement. I'm sure some of it contributes to flex but I bet some also eats steering.

The reason I still use the stock steering ... hmmmm.

Since I'm not seriously competing, there are a few things that I have decided to do simply for asthetic reasons. Steering being one of them. When I started out, I wanted to keep the servo off the axle because it looks less realistic to me. I also wanted to keep as much of the original WK as possible just to see how far I can take it. No offense to any of the tuber guys but I just think they look wrong with the batteries & servos clustered together on the axle. I know they perform better that way, but I'm not 100% for performance. Hence the reason I'll never comp cut my YJ. It would perform better with 38s and 12" more wheelbase, but I'm only going to add a few inches and move the flares back because I don't like the comp cut look.

That said, with the new servo, longer bellcrank and the grinding I did on the knuckles & outers ... I compared mine to a guy that is running CVDs with an axle mounted servo and mine turns just as well as his. Granted I don't get the benefit of the weight lower & on the axle but I'm OK with that.

I understand that. I made a stainless plate to mount my servo on and add weight to the front axle. I wasn't sure about the looks, but once I put it in, I knda liked it. It is a little different from everything I see here. Competing is not what mine is set up for either, I am fairly sure I will never enter a comp., Just like to play around with it. Mine was more of a see how much I could gain on the WK with almost no $$. Also wanted to make absolutely everything bolt on and off, no cutting up stock parts. That way I could always go back to stock if for some weird reason I wanted to. I will admit that the WK in stock for was more fun than my stampede, and if the WK was modded some for the faster stuff it would be great! Been thinking about getting another 1 for that.
Anyway, back to subject, I understand your reasons for the steering now.

I was thinking the same thing this morning. Maybe get one without Electronics and slap in a low turn motor & cheap ESC that can handle a 7 or 8 cell. Then beat the poop outta it
