Default ESC acting wierd

Hey guys i just got the wk for xmas took it out a couple times just stock ripping around before i start to mod it. Now the problem im having is that it will run perfect for say 5-10 minutes usually more twords 10 minutes. And then after that all of a sudden ill let off the throttle and it goes from running full speed to either barely creeping in forwards and working in full throttle in reverse to basically not working at all. Now the steering still seems very strong making me think that its not just the battery dieing.

Ive run nitro cars and trucks for a few years and somewhat new to electric cars so im still learning. So i dont know if this is a normal thing or if its something to address. Thanks in advance guys.

Sounds like the esc is just overheating. IMHO the stock esc is a complete piece. Get a new esc/motor and your good to go

Really over heating i mean just sounds weird because its about 35* out side lol but yea its weird how it acts. I was planning on getting a lathe(i think thats the name again im a noob lol) motor for it will that fix the problem at all or should i get a new esc too.

I really do think it's overheating though. Yeah new esc for sure. The stock one overheats and has no drag brake. You could buy one of the Moped esc's from one of our vendors here for around $30. I run mamba max esc's and I love 'em. They are pricey, but worth every penny.

And yes, a lathe motor would fix your overheating problem, but you still have no drag brake, and I'm pretty sure if you run it hard, it will overheat the stock esc eventually

Edit...
Actually, the lathe motor will give you drag brake
