Your Favorite Rod Ends To Extend WK?

OK, I extended my WK with some old Monster GT tie rods that I had. They were the right length and I wanted to play around with different settings and stuff. Now that I have it basically sorted out, I want to go for a more finished look. So what are your favorite rod ends? I know the MGT ones are not what I want. They are expensive and wear out REALLY fast. Its got some major side to side slop in it right now.

Thanks guys.

I use either traxxas jato or revo rod ends, depending on the aplication. The jato ones are just beefy, but the revo ones look better on a scaler. I use 8-32 allthread with either.

I am not concerned with scale looks. Which Jato ones these

or these

Thanks chrisjlittle

EDIT: DOH! I just realized the little ones don't have balls with them. I figured the longer ones anyway, but I always like t be clear.

i used these and they dont wear very fast and very strong

I use Revo's for pretty much everything. The Jato's are the exact same rod end as the Revo's except the Jato's are longer...let's you get more thread into the shank of the rod end. I use the Jato's very little really, the Revo's are plenty strong and look better I think....plus I have a couple hundred of the Revo's, so that kinda makes it an easy choice

I use those only for mock ups to get my link lengths finalized.

Offroader5 these are the ones you mean right?
http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...7&I=LXHGB7&P=K

I can see where they would look a little better.

Thanks a lot guys. Hopefully soon this thing will drive and look decent enough to post on here.

EDIT: Offroader5, btw how did you end up with a couple hundred of them? Do you just build a lot?

Yup, those are the one's.

I use them on all my rigs, so when I found a good price from a hobby "store" on Ebay and then he gave me an even better per pack price for a quantity buy....I bought 20 packs. I should never have to worry about rod ends again. :-P....and yes, I am always building something or a couple "somethings" :)

Thats what I used. No problems yet.

Any of the Dubro Heavy Duty ends work great. I used the 440 with 440 allthread but they also have 3mm, 8/32, and other thread sizes.

FloridaRebel83 01-09-2008 10:02 PM

Those aren't the Revo's...those are the smaller standard Maxx ends. For those you can use either 4-40 or 3mm...whichever is easier for you to find. They are the same diameter.

The Revo's need at least 8-32 or 4mm thread.

Maggster 01-10-2008 10:29 AM

I think I am going with the Revo ends and 8-32 rod. Thanks guys.

Offroader5... 20 packs? Wow! Sounds ambitious! (or probably its laziness on my part:lol:)

Nerve 01-10-2008 11:28 AM

2 packs of Jato #5525 ball end links
3 feet of 8-32 all thread
#1816 sized aluminum arrow shafts (lowers)
6.0mm OS diameter / 4.7mm ID (.233" I think) size of brake line for uppers, it fits 8-32 all-thread like a glove.

Make sure you calculate your links to the proper lengths. There is a forum post on here somewhere (search it) that tells you exactly what you need to figure out the proper length.

Reason being, when I first started into making links I would have ended up with a 2.2 rig that was around 16" long... LOL. So the "shaft" part of the links ended up being a whole lot smaller then I originally thought. At least half the length or shorter.

Mine sits at just over 12" but below the 12.5" marker.
