in couer d alene at the hobby shop thehave a course set up inside but for now i have been crawling in the snow

themerc64 02-09-2009 12:43 AM

There are a few of us that get together in the CDA area. We have the beginnings of a club going and are looking for more members. The local hobby shops have been less than supportive with anything to do with rock crawling, but they will come around as our numbers grow. Get in touch with me here, or through the site so we can go crawling...

spots in coeur d alene

i live in rathdrum in this new develpment and it would be a great place to build a crawler course there are rocks all over the place

KrazyKrawler48 02-17-2009 07:49 PM

i live in sandpoint and i have no clue where i could go to drive on a indoor course

dirtman 02-17-2009 09:38 PM

there is a small indoor course at performance rc in cda

KrazyKrawler48 02-17-2009 10:13 PM

sweet is it fun? is it too big to drive an mrc on? or is it capable for any size

dirtman 02-17-2009 10:33 PM

I think the shop actually has a mini losi customers test drive on the course. It is not huge but guys try out their new rigs on it. I have never used it, I have ordered a Losi 1/10th scale, it will be my first crawler, I'll have to try it out in May. Not sure if I would drive clear from sandpoint to try it out but bring the Losi if you are in town. Are there good crawling spots in sandpoint?

KrazyKrawler48 02-17-2009 11:09 PM

Um i couldn't really answer that cuz this is my first crawler and ive had it since christmas so all ive had to drive on is snow. But im guessing that there is cuz there is a lot of mountains around but there isn't any course's that i know of. Do you guys over in cda have a club that meets some where for a comp? I would love to go to a comp with my mini against other ones. Its really starting to get boring crawling in my liveing room alone. I WANT SOME REAL ROCKS!!!

dirtman 02-18-2009 05:24 PM

Not sure about a club in cda, but a few are trying to get comps in corbin park in Post Falls. Can't wait for my crawler to get here but the release date keeps getting pushed back, from Feb. to May.

Kalispell is only 2 1/2 hours away I think, come crawl on ours... the guys with mrc's here would love to get enough together for us to score a comp for the mrc's.

Here's something to look at:

tim the toolman 03-02-2009 12:57 PM

Hope you guys can start to get together up there & have some organized events. I'm from up there & go up there a couple times during the summer to see relatives. Should I pm any of you if I plan a trip? It would be fun just to show up for a gtg too"thumbsup"

dirtman 03-02-2009 03:06 PM

Sure Toolman. I'll have my Losi 2.2 ready in May and am going head first into the crawling hobby, I'd be happy to do some crawling with you if you come up. I'm in Coeur d alene. My brother-inlaw teaches school in a little town called Denio, Nevada and I'm going to try and get him into rc crawling. He has a 1.1 crawler and laughs a little at the rc crawlers. If he sees these things in action maybe he will change his mind. I think he is pretty close to winnemuca.

ive hit corbin park a couple times, even with the snow that was still around in patches, it was a blast. much better than any living room for sure. would be an awesome place for comps.

there is even a decent playground within view so they can play there when I bring my youngsters or they can "explore" on the rocks with me.

themerc64 03-06-2009 11:58 AM

Club stuff...

I am very open to help with getting the panhandle recognized. I have only begun with nidrcrc.com and would like to hold some events and get the club recognized by the forum and the USRCCA too! Those showing interest so far have some disabilities that keep their contributions limited at this time, so we ask the patience of everyone and lending a hand to others is greatly appreciated...
