Begginer's Adventure Run / GTG

Setting up for newbies who want to do scale runs... This will not be a rock crawl since we are trying to stay in the good graces with the park officials.

We found a great area to drive trails and don't want to get banned. Already met with some of the conservation groups and they are concerned, but cool with us at this point and like that we are stressing a "Tread Lite" philosophy so they are not moving to banning us from the area.

There is plenty of rock crawling outside the park to do if you are into that, I can point you there.

Situation:
Petroglyph rich area discovered in the Guffey Bridge Area in the Snake River Canyon and Snake River Basalt Plain. Petroglyphs believed to be 1000 to 10000 years old. Petroglyphs will be found on smooth Basalt boulders.

Mission:
(Primary) Conduct vehicle recon of the area using the established trail system. Locate and photo document petroglyphs.
(Secondary) Record GPS coordinates of each point of rock art. Adhere to Tread Litely principles and at no time is cross-country travel permitted.
Driving on rocks with rock art is not permitted. All park rules, state and federal laws must be obeyed.

Execution:
Arrival at the trail head should be no later than 1100 hours.

Expedition teams will depart for trails no later than 1130hrs.

In the event of a roll-over or stuck vehicle, HOG or FOG will not be used.

Upon finding a petroglyph site, alert the team and follow your mission instructions.

Remember this is about fun and we are using rc vehicles on a tour to explore lava formations, foot paths, and rock formations. Be careful on the trail. Includes plenty of loose rock, water crossings, sand, ice, snow, and mud. Pick good lines and use recovery gear.

Human support items, water, dinner, etc are encouraged to have representation on the rig...ie ice chest, water jug, etc. Winches may be working, "judge winching" will be allowed. Working as buddy teams. This is about completing as a whole. Not a comp so nobody will be baby sitting you, so if you decide to short cut it, bend the rules, or plain cheat, you only cheat yourself and your buddies. We don't check rig wts, do a points count, etc.

Take pride in meeting the objective within the guidelines. These are toys. We are not out saving the world, just having fun.

This area is under constant surveillance by environmentalist. Don't blow it by being a jerk. This is an awesome trail to teach new RC explorers on. Yield the trail to hikers, exchange pleasantries with other users, and pick up any trash you find.
