Default SCRC Website

I created a website for the club, the ads at top will be removed within 24hrs, just some GoDaddy propaganda. I tried to register something simple, like SCRC.com, or SCRC.net, but everything was taken, so I registered:

http://suburbanchicagorockcrawlers.com/

Kinda long and cumbersome, but all the good alternatives were taken. Please feel free to make suggestions, comments etc. If you guys have news to add, or anything, let me know. Also on the Info & Resources page I will post a logo and link if appropriate, (HobbyTown site doesn't allow me to save their logo, or there would be one on the site). I will be adding members rides pics as time allows, feel free to send me pics that you would like posted. I want to encourage everyone to make suggestions, I have a hosting plan which allows 5 pages and I'm currently using four, thoughts on a fifth page?

you could add the email SCRCrawlers@comcast.net and a link to the clubs official discussion forum over on Bigsquid.

I just want to update everyone on the site. I often make changes daily in attempt to make the site as good and as useful as possible. The intention of the site is to have a one-stop-shop for all SCRC business. The forums are a great place to chit-chat and organize, share tips and tricks and so on, but I want SCRC's site to provide a fast and easy way to communicate SCRC news and events.

I encourage everyone to make suggestions and give me feedback as to what should be displayed on the site. I'm not so sure it needs a News & Events Page, or Contact Us & Links Page, and I'm open to suggestions for replacement pages etc. I currently have a hosting plan for a 5 page site, and I just added a Tech Tips & Tricks Page thinking that posting useful info would be helpful.

Please inform me of news and/or events that you may want posted on the site, if the News & Events page is replaced with another page I will post the info on the Home Page.

Just so everyone knows, I put Google ads on the site in attempt to generate some $$$ to pay for the site. The payments I receive for clicks on the ads is very minimal, I've made $0.04 to date.... But I figure if I can make $10/month or so, it at least pays for the site.

Always feel free to email me with comment/suggestions or whatever:

I would leave the events page and the contacts....of course contact email could be moved to the bottom of each page if we need that page for something else. If there enough space we could maybe have a small photo gallery...maybe 1-2 pics from each event (make sure the trucks are members rigs). Also, we should look at setting up a fund so you dont cover the cost of the site on your own.

I had a photo gallery at first, but my lack of photos made it kinda boring (I've missed the last two comps unfortunately, so I'm short on pics) but everyone loves pics, including myself, so I need to figure out something, maybe I will just step up the plan to a 10 page site, it's not much more money. As for $$ it's not really a concern, the hosting plan is under $10/month, and even if I step it up to a 10 page site, it's not much more. It's my way of contributing, kinda like you guys putting your money and time into the course at HT Naperville.

BTW, I just added the official USRCCA Rules to the site.

Well I stepped the hosting plan up to 10 pages. I will add a Pics Page, already put the USRCCA Rules on their own page. If anyone has pics from the last two comps I will put them up on the site, or actions shots of your rigs would be good too, comp or not. Just get me the pics and I will get them up.

First I want to thank Javier for providing all of those great pics from the last comp! Also congrats on the win!

Second I just wanted to let everyone know that the site has been updated recently, lots of pics and stuff added.

Third I want to thank Jetboat for the Tech Page addition, great write-up on making your own links.

Fourth, if anyone has something to add to the site let me know. I will gladly put up pictures and tech info, and possibly other stuff too?

Argh. If I would have thought of it, I would have done a write up on De-Ano'ing stuff last night when I got rid of the green.
