you should hook up with SCRC (see sig for website). We crawl in Elk Grove Village at busse woods and by special permit over at Dellwood in Lockport (please dont go there to crawl on your own rc's are normally illegal in the park). Personally I have a decent little backyard course (Romeoville) and we are looking for more spots. Also, RC Hobbies In Naperville has an indoor course and they have been good to the club as does Hills Hobbies in Elk Grove (I think) but hills course is still under construction. DO NOT try crawling in any Dupage County forest preserve, they will give you a $75 ticket and posssibly take your stuff (if they decide they want it).

Not sure how old you are, if you mind driving etc but... I own a LARGE course near Champaign and will be hosting an event there in Aug with Sponsorship from Futaba/Greatplanes. Midwest Rockcrawlers Usually hosts a couple events every year up at Devils Lake in Wi.

Next time is July 19th. You should definitly come out to a comp just to see all the crawlers.

Most towns around here actually have ordances that prohibit RC's from being ran which makes it hard. I had been going over to dellwood a couple times a month until I called to get a permit for the comp, now that I know its illegal, I only go there on dates I have prearranged with the park District and the chief of police.

Busse woods though, as long as your not interfearing with the trails, tearing anything up or making allot of noise... they dont seem to care.

We are continually scouting locations for comps/gtg's so if you find anything, let us know. I have been wanting to scout locations along the I&M canal system but I have been too busy myself. Every now and then Ill pull up Google earth and look for places that look interesting close by.
