Default Pics from "the Farm" this weekend

Some pics I took crawling this weekend... I was joined by hcssbd, almost all are his truck as I find it hard to drive and take pics.

I have to compliment him on the nice course.

We had fun that afternoon, and I didn't do too bad for a rookie.

I ended the day with a broken truck, he got away in one piece.

Now that's got to be a first Jeff getting away with his truck in one piece! lol Sorry Jeff I had to!

Your Axial must have open diffs huh, no lockers from the looks of it in the one pic!? Get some good lockers not those alum Axial ones, i've stripped all but one of the 4 I have!

He is running lockers in the front... the tires were skipping for traction and the camera gave the illusion of an open diff. That section he is crawling in that pic is a pretty steep (85*) and you have to pick the perfect line to get up it with a 2.2... If I get the chance and some spare cash Im planning to add a new section before the comp.

Nope, both diffs are locked. The truck is the kit version, not the RTR with the open front diff (despite the body, $8 epay). I doubt an open front would have made it. I did have to "cheat" since I dont have a dig unit using rear stear (3 postion mode) instead on that part. Dig unit is next on the list of things, but right now they all seem to be on back order or not released yet.

What I need is a pair of decent center shafts, I twisted one into submision, the other is 1/2 way there. I played with T-maxx front/rears (4951/4927), but the yoke is too big in diameter to clear the spur. The stampede drives (1951) are too short (at least the stectched rear). The experiment is 1/2 one and 1/2 the other (with a little widening of the slots in the 1951.

you could try the MIP cvd's but, not sure if they are too long once you add a dig unit.

I thought about those... Then I did a little digging around and there are too many complaints for twisting the pin out of them, not to mention the $'s. I have to find a dig unit along the way before metal shafts.

I did see how to easily strech the 1951's, made me feel stupid I didnt think of how they did it. Now to get the 1953 bulk pack ordered next time I get to D'ville.
