| Hello from Chicago
Hey everyone new to the crawler scene but not rc in general. Anyways I have a losi micro on the way and it should be here by Saturday. Anyone else in Chicago (I'm near the united center) have one too or go crawl at places outside. My neighborhood has tons of cool stuff. Hit me up I'm gong to build a little homemade course as the days come. Take care everyone

Hey sky, that's great! I haven't met many people that actually live in Chicago. I have a micro too. I'm almost done with my scaler, I want to meet up with all these other guys once it's done. I'm actually going over to my buddies tonight, he lives at Lake and Damen, that's gotta be right by you. |

Wow, I used to work at Randolph and Racine. Got a lot of empty lot with lots of debris over there, is that what you are crawling on? Anyway when I'm in Chicago I live by the lakefront over by Irving Park and LSD. There are a couple good crawling areas just east of the golf course just south of Montrose Harbor where parts of the seawall collapsed, part limestone part concrete. |

I agree Ron, if you want 1/10 and no desire to comp, hard to beat an SCX10. if you do want to comp, get with the SCRC guys and look at sportsman rigs like the AX10 or the R1.

I went back and forth with the R1... love the looks and the fact that Junfac has every upgrade available! But, it seems that people in the GMade section are having a hard time getting them to compete with the ax 10's... It would make a fun basher though. |

That is very cool looking. I like the wheel and tire combo with that body. I am a huge baja 1000 fan |

Funny thing about the wheels, I wanted to run the RC4WD steelies and Dune x/t's and they're 2.2. So I found this wheel/tire combo for sale and was thinking I'd get my steelies and sell the Mud Slingers... but I really like these tires. They're taller then I wanted, a little smaller and no fender rub. I was going to run 1.9 trail/rock/mud tires and 2.2 Dune x/t's depending on where I was... not so sure now. I want to post up a build thread but I my cell phone camera sucks! I'm talking with DH Fabrication and I'm going to have custom "Baja Style" sliders made and a rear bumper/motor cage. The front bumper is the DH F Hilux stinger bumper. I think it follows the VW lines pretty good. |
