BOOBIES

Rick, that is why my Big Red has been seizing for a year with just sporadic work done on it. Love the truck, just can't seem to finish it. I think when I work on a new project, I am sort of maniacal and when that runs it's course, I am back to staring at them.

To the RC and shooting question. Yep, have an area to run go fasts by the pond, got a John boat with swivel seats and a trolling motor yesterday to fish from and to collect wayward RC Boats. Planning a rock, mud and trail course not too far from my shop. Should be fun.

I need help from you gluing stuff to junk experts..

Here's what I got:
ImageShack® - Online Photo and Video Hosting

Its a piece of lexan that I molded to fit around a magnet and its glued to the bottom of a plastic hood with medium CA glue. Its glued all the way around with all the gaps filled with just medium CA.

Any ideas on what I can do to make sure it doesn't come off? Do you think this will be enough? The magnet is pretty strong.. I'd rather it not fall apart.

Thanks

I would just put a bunch of shoe goo all the way around it. That stuff holds anything. Put a bunch on there and it won't come off.

magnets are slippery...

you could use a peice of paper over the magnet with like an inch on all sides transitioning to the panel, and use fiberglass resin on the paper & panel for good adhesion. once the resin cured you could sand it and paint it.

or use a thin peice of styrene and maybe hit it with a heat gun and mold the magnet in it, then stick that to the hood with ca.

Thanks guys.. It's already glued to the hood inside of that lexan cup I made. Considering that, I'll go with Treys method of shoe gooin the shit out of it.

Edit: well, after walking around walmart at 11:30pm hating the place.. I couldn't find shoe-goo so, I went with loctite brand plastic 2 part exopy. I put it on already, It seems like it going to be good. Hopefully it doesn't screw up my body or anything.

I came up with a pretty cool way to mount my body.. Just like I said yesterday. When I was bitching about "builders block".. Well, today it came to me and it went pretty well. I'll post pics in my build thread later.

epoxy beats the hell out of shoe goo. i used epoxy to glue the mirror magnets in on the highlift and it hasnt failed yet.

however, i only used ca on the body side of the mirrors and last time out lost one...

i need to get my little drifter finished, they look like fun to drive. just like my jetboat it's been so long i forget even if its a tc3 or tc4...

I didn't many pics, it was too fun a place to stop driving!
I'd go back anytime... in fact, I'd like to make an all day trip out of it... there's enough terrain to keep me occupied for hours!

We ended up not really scoring because there were only 4 of us... but after running Hera first and then Melons, I think Melons had a real chance at winning it!

Saw that same truck when I was leaving company picnic. Someone should have taken the catalog away from him.

well... house is clean and the jetboat is running again. not as fun as a scale event but a clean house sure improves ones mood.

new motor for the jetboat is twice as long as the old one. and withstood about a minute of wot in the bathtub without even getting warm. i think its good to go.
