i think its just the ignorance that you can pull stills from 'hi-def' video. client wants cheap, and they just assume a screenshot will hold up when increased in size 1000%.

Eh? Raster vs vector images. Raster being bitmaps (Raster graphics - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia).

Does anyone know what diff oil these traxxas trucks come with? I'm assuming they aren't dry. I have 10k for the rear and 30k for the front.. Just wondering if thats something I should do before I run it for the first time or if I can see what it's like before I switch fluids.

I dunno TBH... mine had silicon oil in them, but I switched out to 7/30/3 which is the same ratio I used with my truggy.

anybody know any GOOD auto shops in n. chicago?

i had a new ac compressor put in my 4rnr last summer after the clutch failed, and ever since my compressor knocks at idle and whines at speed. ac blows cold. i figured it was overfilled... i took it back to thw shop and they had it for 2 days and couldnt figure it out, so i took it back and just didnt use the ac for the rest of the year...

this week i took it to another shop and again didnt get the issue fixed.

ac blows cold as hell.

Does it make the sound all the time or just when the AC is on?

Have them check/replace the idler puller & check belt wear & adjustment. Stick your arm down there with the engine off and spin the compressor clutch.. See if you can hear or most likey feel where it would be making the sound you hear. Then, start it, go look/listen to the compressor from under the hood and have your girl hit the button, listen for any changes from that area.

just when its on. its not belt or pulley related. before the clutch lunched last summer it worked and sounded fine. then after the new compressor was installed it has noise. ac blows cold as hell, but i know that the noise shouldnt be there and that something isnt right.

Well, It seems that we narrowed it down to the compressor/components. You should have mentioned it when you drove it out of the shop like that. It could be a defective new/refurbished unit that managed to work this long.. You had a compressor that had a clutch go out, you replaced the whole compressor/clutch assembly and the new stuff makes a noise. If your sure its not belt/pulley related, Its obviously the new compressor/clutch that is making noise. Is it the bearing, the clutch or compressor internal? That is the question. Generally, in this situation, one would skip the costly diagnostics and replace the whole unit again. Then, if they replace it and it makes the noise, you can say WTF? Before you leave there.

yeah..

i just hate to bring it back to the place... i dont have any faith it would be done right and i hate the idea of leaving my rig with them.

i can maybe understand swapping the compressor and not noticing the noise after telling me it was fixed the first time i had it there, but after i brought it back for the noise for them to say they couldn't isolate the problem and thought it was the condensor just rubbed me the wrong way.

I hear you... thats what I really hate. Had a rattling sound after getting the master clutch cylinder and clutch replaced; they kept telling me they couldnt find it, then it was like the 2nd or 3rd time I had it in they realized that it was because the exhaust pipes hadn't been completely tightened down which was causing the issue.
