that's a good idea Trey. My first TTC/first time using a winch I took a double point because it came loose.
I think it's wedged in the little keychain thingy pretty good and it seems strong. It came as a set of like 6, all different colors. I took black, I'll bring them at some point and you guys can have the rest.

Nice... I made the mistake of only ordering 8 feet, and its not enough. :( What part # is the clamp you used on the line? How did you attach it to the spool?

What... is the air-speed velocity of an unladen swallow?
An African or European swallow?

Ok, got the 22 SCT tightened up. With the mid-mount motor, and fact I don't have any "shorty" batteries, I needed someway to mount the ESC. This was also an issue because of the length of the sensor wire. So I poked around and came up with using the ESC mount for the rear motor mount setup and plopped it on the front of the chassis as shown in the photo. Works well and also acts as an emergency back stop for the battery.

Saw some examples online where people took a and bent a piece of metal to form an ESC tray and attached it to the cover over the motor. This also seemed reasonable, but thought my solution was a bit nicer as it keeps the ESC weight a bit lower too.

I'll get the part number when I get to work.
I drilled a hole through the top of the spool at an angle then threaded the line through it .125" and just wound it up.
It's not actually secured except by the bend of the angle and pressure from the line wrapped around it. Gotta come up with a better guide though, if pressure is not kept on it, it wants to unspool.
I might try the next size down for Melons.

yeah, Zero had the part number... he said he had to charge me $500 for it though!

I ordered 4 MTZ's yesterday... I'll see how they look.
I am worried they'll be too short though.

... and no Zero, not this Too Short!

if you got the 1.9 mtz's they are approx 4.2 inches.

heres the sdi trail docs, says they are about the same size as the stock highlift tires.

No, I got the 1.55"... they are almost the smallest C1 tire. 3.18"x1.02"

Those are tiny! Are they the new compound like the 1.9's? Wayyy different tire than the 1.5 iroks. The iroks were THAT big on there? Well, either way, I think a dually old ford will be killer.

they are really short... I think they'll look really scale but I'm worried about performance. I might hold onto the IROK's and run them on 1.9"s (no dually) if I have too.
I still might get he Rock Stompers too.
They are the X3 compound... I don't know wtf is up with RC4WD releasing new tires in the old compound.

and yes, the 1.7" IROK's are so damn big they look silly on the dually rims... in this pic, they are not mounted all the way. The inner tire is almost completely hanging off the wheel.

I also thought about narrowing the IROK's, basically cutting them down to 1" from 1.6". (the rims are .75" wide")
Even though tire modification isn't allowed in C1. I figured if we let in 1.9" TSL's, a tire half the original width shouldn't be an issue.

Well the issue in my mind would be that since C1 is supposed to be 'uber-scale' (or at least as much as possible, i.e. this... Ferrari 312 PB replica scale model. Must Watch!!! - YouTube) that appropriate "scale" tires in the right size may not be available, so I would think that if it is for "scale" reasons, as opposed to "performance" reasons, it would be cool.

that's what I assumed too... and if I did/do narrow the IROK's, it would be for scale appearance only.
Without narrowing, dually IROK's equal about 6.5" of tire width!
