I wasn't really interested in C3 until the ECSC event. I've always wanted a C1 but, was waiting for the right combination of parts I guess.

Finish your C3 rig first and run that bitch!

C3 rules state "body must be as long as wheel base"

What the hell does that mean? Im running a hilux cab and a 14" wheel base.

i had alot more fun with my tf2 running c1 than i thought i would. the thing just works, and thats with the horrible underside hook that the stock tcase creates.

i was completely suprised when they called me up for 2nd place.

Dude, you ran great with the C1!
I was judging so saw a lot of runs... you killed it!

Yeah, I assume body & tube work. Remember, your front tube work / bumper will probably overhang the front axle a little bit so, you should be ok even if your rear is right on top of the rear axle.

I was pretty happy with my 9th place in C1... considering I really never drove the rig more than a few mins.

I've thought about this a few times... I feel I could/should have done better in C2.

At the start of Course 1, I rolled over because I was in a hurry.
and I had a bit of bad luck at one point, I fell into an unforeseen underwater hole and rolled again.

and on Course 3, the judge kept talking to me, distracting me!
I even asked him to please just let me drive but he just kept on talking... telling me what line to choose.
At one point I finally listened to him and ended up with several more reverses than I think I should have had for that section.

Plus, I need more scale points on Melons!

EDIT: I'm not hung up on it or anything... I think the experience will make me a better driver.

i got no regrets really other than that damn ttc mud course. i could have finished that had i not wanted to get everybody dirty and try to put on a show.

getting stoned before course 3 is what hurt me on c2... i could have done better and maybe pulled off 3rd place. oh well.

no regrets tho. it really helped re-inspire me to get passionate about the hobby again.

I think im fine within the C3 rules. My rear tube work is just short of the centerline of the axle (a D-ring mount will make that legal) and the front of the hood of the body is over the centerline of the front axle. After the front part of the chassis is done, i should be fine.

If not ill braze a spike to the front for ramming ankles!

I know that I have to stay 100% focused which I thought I was. Got 3 DNF in C2 and a NIRC discount from Trey for 3 seconds which would have made 4 DNF's but it was the small moments when PONCH was working that made me feel like a winner. I need TONS of practice or maybe it's like Jack Nicholson said " Maybe this is as good as it gets" and if it is who cares I am having FUN! Definitely need to get better so I can finish a course and also need to upgrade on SCALE points that would help with my score. Can't wait until next year.

Ha, well it wasn't really a discount. I messed up and didn't pause the time when you asked. And then I didn't restart when I should have. I screwed up the clock so I didn't want to penalize you for that. Don't want big brother to think I was cheating for you.

Seems like quite a few people building C1 rigs. I'm building a C1 unimog won't be done for awhile but hopefully I turns out cool.
