well you already know John, Joe (his Brood) and Matt. Im in Romeoville and SCRC typically runs in the Romeoville/Palos area. We also usually have 1-2 comps a summer up at Busse and 1-2 down at Kankakee (though flooding got us this year). We will be starting a winter comp series at the HobbyTown in Orland Park.

Will your winter comps include scalers or is it more of sportsman's and comp crawlers? I think that's about an hour or so away from me, not too bad.

we have been getting allot of questions about scalers. Honestly I cant answer right now. I can tell you that we have a 3 truck rule... If 3 trucks in 1 class show up, we will have a comp for them. By the same token, if 3 trucks dont show up then we dont have a comp for that class no matter what class it is.

I'm in joliet. Right around were I-80 meets I-55. The closest thing to crawl I have found around here is in a forest preserve but its almost a mile of walking

This spot is right in Joliet off I80.
Its West Park, a public park with quite a Disc Golf course. I walked through and there is some great areas for scalers. Comp, maybe with some creativity.
joliet,il - Google Maps

Lots of hills, some rock, old worn concrete steps, water, mud, all the fun stuff.
Across Bellview Rd was a nice spot with steep rough poured concrete and some rock and concrete chunks at the bottom.

I don't think so. Its not a park its just a forest preserve with a bike path that goes all the way thru it. It also goes behind joliet junior college.
There's a little airport on jefferson like half a mile east of i-55. The forest preserve is south of the airport

I googled it its lower rock run forest preserve. You have to park on springwood drive then walk a lot into the woods.
I haven't searched in hammel woods but ill go exploring this weekend. Maybe I'll find something with less walking.
Last time I went to rock run forest preserve I packed my rc in a book bag and took my bike
