10 gates might allow more people to run, or allow more chances to run.

I like 20 as well.

time out and duel driver will work. I know of other that do this with a lot more people.

i think it should be dependent on the amount of people that are in attendance and the amount of classes to run.

yesterday would have been a little smoother with 10 gates and we might have even got to class 2.

Changing per event will change score. That would be unfair. I think it has to be even throw out the series.

Say someone does great and get a - 40 plus there scale point. but the next comp with ten gates some one gets a -20 Does seam fair.

If it's the same throughout the comp... I don't think that matters much.
If you really want to save the 10 gate time but not change anything, just double up some of the gates or make them really easy and wide
