I'm looking for a street bike right now too. I have no history or knowledge of bikes sadly. Been googling tons and following your travels. I got about $2000 budget.

My first street bike, only street bike, was an 86 Honda Nighthawk 650. Great bike. Plenty of power but not kill yourself power! I dumped it at 65mph 20 years ago and really haven't rode since. I bought an 89 Honda NX250 (my high school dream bike) 8 years ago but had to immediately sell it to cover attorney fees. I'm all over the place though. I kinda want an early sport bike: 1980 Honda CB900F or 83 CB1000F. I really want another dirtbike. I'm seriously thinking I'll get the Goldwing amd make a project out of it... I love the big cafe look. They are not fast but pretty safe I think... I think a Goldwing (or an enduro) would've rode right over the pot hole that wrecked me 20 years ago. Haha, you're old. I've never heard of someone pulling a GW apart like that. You'd have a lot of engine! And maybe even reverse! |

there's really not too much to it... remove the fairings, new seat, new fenders and new handle bars and you are essentially there.

i moved some posts. theres a nirc chitchat, for chit chat... and a johnnys vehicle thread, for talking about johns vehicles. before posting, please make sure you are in the right thread. i dont see the reason to be having the same conversations jumping between 2 different ones. |

Man, you are extra grouchy lately. I figured you'd feel more relaxed not going in LB everyday. |
