Default New Chicagoland member here.

Just introducing myself. My name is Trent and I live in the NW burbs of Chicago. I just picked up my 1st crawler today. Got me a Vaterra Ascender K5 blazer. The truck is just stock for now but i got some Drivetrain upgrades coming. I'm not new to rc stuff as I'm big into 1/14 scale Rc semi trucks and construction equipment. I always try to attend the semi truck meets near chicago. I really liked the look and size of these 1/10 scale crawlers and hope to meet some of you guys at a local crawler event.

The CXT is awsome looking. A 6x6 would be cool. I have seen guys on rctruckandconstruction.com build some monster 6x6 or 8x8 trucks that crawl up some crazy terrain.

I live in Buffalo Grove. If anyone is near me lets do some crawling sometime.

Here are my rigs

Very cool keep me posted on any weekend events around town. I saw some of your maps with most local stuff thats no more than 30 min from me? Summer is my busy season so I don't go far from home due to work. I do attend stuff as far as Indy and Michigan if its over a weekend. But that's about as far as I like to travel as any more than 3-5 hrs travel and most of my weekend is in hotels and on the road.

I look forward to some events when the snow melts.

Check with jetboat, SCRC usually has something going on, or Talmond up in Rockford. You can also check out the sticky at the top of the page for maps to some decent crawling spots around the Chicagoland area.

Another spot to check out that's not in the sticky, is the old Meadowdale Racetrack up in Carpentersville. It's part of the Kane County Forest Preserve, and is accessible off of both Rt 31, and Huntley Rd.
