Default Looking for hobby shops in norther il

I just got back into the game of r/c and there seems to only be one hobby shop local to me. Just seeing if anyone knows of any others that are still open these days.

Al's hobby was the good one... but closed last year.
We really only have one with a lot of rc that i know of, Hobby Town in Buffalo Grove.
There's also a couple in the area with tracks... Leisure Hour and I think Hobby Town in Lake In The Hills.
Then Rockford has one too.
I think most of us get everything online.

I work for the Hobbytown in St. Charles and there is also one in Schaumburg as well. Not sure any more on 100% independent shops beyond Leisure any more though.

Thanks Mike, that's where we're at now and under new ownership as of March 2014, we're a little light on product though, it was a busy last few weeks!

Is it safe to assume the parking lot races are suspended until springtime?

I wonder if that one in Joliet is the one that someone was asking about coming to Aurora?

Yeah, we haven't made any decisions on when just yet, but they will likely start back up in May. I'm curious as to where that rumor on the new LHS in Aurora started, I still haven't heard anything about it elsewhere.

The only thing I found on the interweb was a place called Aurora Rails and Hobbies, but they're located in NY. The only other shops close would be Naperville Hobbies, Ken's RC Hobbies in Morris and a crapload of Hobby Lobby's

The Lake in the Hills Hobby Town mentioned above does have a lot of surface rc stuff. I have been there but not really was looking for crawler items.

The rumor about the Aurora shop started at Leisure (Plainfield, huge amount of off the shelf crawler stuff now). Turns out there is a shop in Aurora but, its multirotor only.
