| T.S.C......Ohio Indiana Kentucky.......lets find some new spots
Alright guys, we need to find more spots to go crawling in this area. I've scoured the web and found tons of rocky places in Ohio. But further up north. Maybe some of you columbus guys might be able to check some out. There seems to be some spots in Lancaster and Hocking Hills. Here's some links, look through them and tell me if any of you guys are close enough to them to go check them out. http://www.dnr.state.oh.us/parks/parks/ http://www.metroparks.net/Parks.aspx http://www.metroparks.net/ParksClearCreek.aspx http://www.dnr.state.oh.us/parks/parks/jhnbryan.htm www.7caves.com (site down right now) http://www.dnr.state.oh.us/dnap/location/davis.html http://www.dnr.state.oh.us/dnap/location/whipple.html http://www.ohiodnr.com/dnap/location/clifton.html http://www.ohiodnr.com/dnap/sr/lbeaver.htm http://www.ohiodnr.com/dnap/sr/grand.htm http://www.oldmanscave.com/ http://www.appalachianohio.com/touri...0&SubItemID=58 And that's just in Ohio. lol Then there's Indiana and Kentucky. Don't know much of Indiana's landscape, but there's TONS of rocks in KY. I would think somewhere in the Cumberland area there are some excellent areas to crawl. I hope to be going on a 1:1 wheeling trip sometime in October to Livingston KY, so I'll scout out that area while I'm down there. Doug, diddn't you go camping down in Cumberland? Anything down there? Let's see what you guys got. |

I've always wanted to go back to Nelson's Ledges with me truck. http://www.photomansion.com/NelsonsL...s_Ledges_1.htm http://www.photomansion.com/NelsonsL...s_Ledges_2.htm But I'm curious about a spot in Indiana where the Indiana boys do their Indiana thang. |

Where are you going, and what time? I'm going to Gravelrama around noon. There are a few creeks over by my place which look promising. You should stop by and we can check them out. There right along the road so no hiking. |

Hell, there's all kinds of places in KY What happen to these guys? http://home.insightbb.com/~jeep4x419...tos.html-.html Then there's the spill way: But it's kinda flat cheasted. The HOLE (Jb's private lot from hell) http://www.elsomething.com/Movies/Th...netversion.wmv (sorry I only have video) I went to Cumberland lake a few weeks ago, lots of stuff there but you can't access most of it unless you have a boat. http://www.elsomething.com/randomphoto/DSC05851.JPG *very crappy pic of possibly the best place to crawl that I saw on the entire trip* http://www.elsomething.com/randomphoto/DSC05767.JPG It's actualy a boat ramp, and if you walk down the coast there's a really nice spot. I somehow mannaged not to bring my camera with me the first day! I'd also like to check out Mammoth and Lost River Cave, they both offer walking trails. (Lost river is even in bowling green right off the main streach). http://wrgis.wr.usgs.gov/docs/parks/...ce/intgal.html |

Yea, that place looks killer. Clarksville Indiana, 47129 I vote we go here next time. Looks like its roughly a 2hr drive from both Cincy and Indy. A little further for CORY up in Columbus, but he could meet up with us in Cincy. What do you guys think? Late October? Or late September? | |

Clarksville sounds good to me. It is all intersate highway for us to get there. Late Sept. might cause a problem for those people going to GR if they broke something but I am up for either month.

I hear ya on the creeks, but thats the only place where rocks exist around here. Unless somwhere has some man made stack of rocks put together, but I prefer natural terrain.

who has rocks stacked somewhere besides, that small area kicked your trucks arse I have gotten ALOT more and ALOT bigger since you was here last I have a few that i had to take the trackloader to pick them up and put them in the truck, just ask doug- he has help[ed me pick them back up .I know my truck has been hating me here lately. I really need to get one of those truck bed roll things. they came out a few years ago. they snap on your tailgate and it rolls out in yoru bed. then dump rocks or whatever in it and then just crank it out of the bed..but have no clue where to get one.. anywayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy just got back from Renschler park and there wasn't anything really up there.Just a big wide open creek area.Didn't look to bad and it was a wide creek. nice breeze blowing through and very little water until you got towards the bottom section. I am gonna ride through Winton woods later on tonight probably and then hit Sharon woods if I have time or maybe tomorrow morning sometime. Then cruise Hueston woods and go check out the Brookeville area. I am on vacation this week, so i'll just make time to go cruise in between all this moving and crap between houses Last edited by TwistedCreations; 08-28-2005 at 12:43 PM. |

owell, i didn't get out to winton woods. I ran into a guy i used to grow up with and he had a bike also. so we went cruising instead This bike is taking over my RC time but once i get everything done from the moving and renovations of moms house, I will have extra time and money to put back into RC's. it has just taken a backseat for right now |

there are 2 creeks that run near my place but.....I am not in good with the neighbors (freaky rednecks) to get easy access to the creek and the hike it would take to get to the creeks from my place make the hike on our last get together seem like a leisurely stroll. NO KIDDING I have been thinking Sharon Woods would be nice but with all this recent water it'd be no exposed rocks. I have been looking around, there is a couple of places on the Little Miami that are nice and exposed for rocky terrain BUT all this rain is screwing things up. I will keep looking. G |
