Whats up guys joined up today. I don't have a crawler yet but have it narrowed down to a Losi mini crawler or a Scorpion. any suggestions on which one i should get? I'm buying one because its a lot less expensive than turning the Jeep into a crawler! I'm from Columbus so maybe here in the next couple months i can hit the rocks with some of you guys

Welcome Flexd. Either machine would be a good start. With the Losi you get everything you need to get started, including the radio. You will find more people running 2.2 class truck like the Scorpion. Tri-State Crawlers is having an event at the Falls of the Ohio on January 3. This is about an hour south of Columbus on I-65. You are welcome to come and talk to everyone and see the various trucks competing. Might help you make a decision.

Thanks man. I can't wait to get a crawler. I am leaning way towards the mini crawler. Since like you said it comes with everything to get crawling. Is there a competition class for them? What are some good Cheap upgrades for them? I would like to come down and check it out but i'll be on my way home from florida on the 3rd. We will be driving back from south florida so i'm guessing i won't want to see the interstate for a week or two after that

Yes flex, there is a class for them, which we will run all the time. Since you will be out of town on the 3rd, our next event would be in Feb. at Arbuckle(brownsburg,In) and hope you can make it. Probably in a month or so, I'll probably be selling my son's AX-10. So since you will be buying a mini, I can make you a nice deal on his truck and get you into the 2.2 class also if you want. but upgrades for the mini would be to buy tires, a holmes hobby torquemaster motor and new lockers as the stock ones like to break. But there are guys and girls who run our events with stock trucks and do just fine also

Well guys i wasn't too sure if i would be able to get one for a while but i think i will bite the bullet next week and buy a Losi. I had some things come up(needed some Jeep parts) and put this one the back burner but i think its time to get me a crawler!

Honestly I was in the same dilemma as you about 5 months ago, Mini Crawler VS. 2.2 Crawler, I ended up with the 2.2In my opinion, the 1.9's will not do 1/2 the stuff the 2.2's will. I'm glad that I chose to go with the axial crawler. The 1.9's are OK but they are just too small. The 2.2 class crawlers are much more capable and there are less class restrictions when running the 2.2 class in comps. Hope this helps but I just wouldn't want to see someone spend the same amount of money on a 1.9 as they could have on a 2.2 and not be happy with it. Take it as a grain of salt but its just my opinion.
