I was actually thinking a tent would be an idea but had no idea of the layout and if it would be possible at all? |

Seth and I were just discussing that this afternoon. There will be a limited number of power receptacles but given the low charge rate for most crawlers they should be plenty. You will be responsible for you own chairs. We will have a few 8 foot tables available, and there are some nice weeping willow trees that provide shade all day but they are across the sidewalk. about 30 feet away. If you would prefer up-close to the course there is plenty of open grass field sectioned off just for us but you will need to bring you own shade. This is shaping up to have a large entry list likely 3 hours just getting the first 2 courses in. If sufficient people are present we may start at 11:00am, not to worry those showing up last minute expecting a 12:00 start time will still have a few hours to get the first 2 courses in. Carbonuts I sent David Kinsington an E-mail with the PDF, I'd be happy to send it to you as well just need you E-mail address....I don't know why the link doesn't work? Alright guys, we were going to go over this at the drivers meeting but I figure you all are big boys and good look over it. Start Gates are live, time and scoring start when truck breaks the plane, finishes will be a line, time and scoring stop when the truck breaks the plane. All penalties will be called out so the driver will know exactly what they are penalized for. Boundaries, the purpose of the boundary is to keep the truck in and unnecessary human obstacles out, we are not measuring every blade of grass but an obvious infraction will be scored, Only judges and current competing driver allowed within the boundaries Reverses are any time the tires move the vehicle backward or rotate in the reverse direction, minute movement caused by dig will likely be ‘overlooked’ but if your drive train is sloppy enough to roll way back then prepare to eat a penalty, ULTIMATELY IT WILL BE THE JUDGES CALL AND WILL BE CONSISTENT FOR EVERYONE Gate clearing: The 20 and past rule is in effect. ALL 4 WHEELS must pass between the gates without touching the gate to receive progress with out some sort of gate penalty All Floating Wheels will need to be corrected PRIOR to making additional forward progress or a gate penalty will be given. Progress is the front and rear axle completely passed the gate. If you drive, roll, bounce, fall down hill and create progress but do not get all 4 wheels between the gates it will be scored as a Gate with Progress, unless the gate puts you at 20 before progress is made. Any touch, intentional or unintentional by the driver will result in a reposition to last cleared gate. In the case of a falling or tumbling vehicle judges will be deemed as part of the course. Ties will be decided by 1)The lowest score on the last course, 2)The fastest time on the last course. 3)The fastest overall time. DRIVERS There are a lot of competitors so lets please have trucks ready so we can run continuously and not have to wait for drivers to start. Approximate based on 25 drivers (may be revised once final entries are in) 1st & 2nd courses will be open till 2pm then judges will run 1 & 2 and set-up course #3 3rd course will open at 2:30 till 5:45 pm then judges will run and set-up the Top 5 course Top 5 finals course will be 7:15 till 7:45 |

"Only judges and current competing driver allowed within the boundaries" so are you saying no spoters ..... or can a driver have just 1 spoter for their run. I understand keeping random people away from and off of the course is needed, but using a spoter is normal at big events. Just a question ... Thanks In the case of a falling or tumbling vehicle judges will be deemed as part of the course. why should the driver be given 10 points for hiting a judge that is in there way? It is the judges job to stay out of the way of a moving, falling, rolling truck. Touch should be based on the driver, not the people that can not get out of the way! ??????? How many gates per course and what is the time limit ?????? Thanks, i might have missed this, if i did .... sorry How will roll overs be handeled ?? On the 20 and go for a gate ? do you add the 20 to the curent points on that gate or are you rounding up to 20 at that point? Sorry for all the question's, i'm just trying to save time on the drivers meeting the day of the comp Last edited by TwistedCreations; 07-10-2009 at 02:04 AM. Reason: merged 20 posts into 1 :) |

If a non-crawler is allowed to add his two cents in here... Sorry for the mixup on the entry form link. The link to the Rock the Fort entry form is as follows; http://www.trfonline.org/application...Arock-the-fort The TRF launched a new website after the original link was posted, so the address changed. I didn't get the word out to Seth and company about the new link. Check it out and enter if you have not already. Here is a sneak preview of the T-shirt you will receive with your entry... |

Lonnie you are correct, the map is spot on. More rocks should be there tonight and placed tomorrow. Aaron, finding food won't be a problem, as for the grill I'll have to check. I'm planning on a cooler box with coldcut fixxins. |
