| Badlands Off Road Park http://www.badlandsoffroad.com/ 3968 North Xavier Road Attica, IN 47918-8055 - (866) 762-2981 This could be a good place to set up a crawling event, as they have a 1:1 event every year there. Just wanted anyone close to know of the park. |

I go to the badlands a lot in the summer in my 1.1 jeep. We were out there a few weeks ago and took the scalers. The quarry was wet and it made it a blast to climb the walls why I was waiting for ppl to fix there 1.1s. I am going saturday, if it's not raining I'm going to take it again.

Had a blast at the badlands! I wish I took my scaled & comp crawlers, the batteries needed charged. There were times in the quarry I could have driven them. I will definitely make sure I have them for the next time.

I was out there yesterday with my 1:1 rig to play, had my crawler with me and tried a few climbs with it in the quarry area and all the rocks were so covered in rock dust it couldn't get a grip. Here is a pic of it before I put it away (it is from a friend's FB so I'm not sure if it will showup to everyone). |

Has anyone been to this place recently? Is it a good spot for crawling? Looking on satellite and checking out pics on google, it seems like it may have some potential. But, I don't own a 1:1 vehicle that would be suitable for off-roading. Are any of the spots that are good for crawling accessible via regular vehicle/walking? If so, I may make a weekend out of it and camp nearby. Next spring/summer time frame.

To get to the good crawling spots you would have to have a 4x4 of some sort. I have thought about going there to do a scale TTC event, but like you not everyone has a truck/jeep to get back to the good stuff.

| Re: Badlands Off Road Park The quarry area sw of the rv campground looks like it might be accessible. There's a dirt road that looks like it goes back to a house/business.

I talked to Kyle a couple years back about hosting an event in the quarry. We had arranged a date and price etc, then another major comp date was moved and effectively killed the comp. We also discussed hosting a comp while the xrra events are going because they improve the road back for the event. As long as the front gate is open, you could drive a ricer Honda civic back there. I still think Badlands could be a nats location... |

Back to the quarry? That's what I thought looking at the sat. image. I emailed them a few days ago, waiting to hear back. Looks like it'd make a nice weekend trip. | |

In most cases that lane is blocked off and off limits to everyone who is there to wheel. Or at least it was when Troy and Lisa owned the property. I have not been there since 2008. The Badlands would be a great place for several different events: rock crawling, scale events (TTC, G6, KoH), FOFF, etc. |

if your going in the main gate, on the left side not too far past the campground is a gate. That gate is opened ONLY for when there are events in the quarry. Theres usually a pretty big mud puddle about the turn in the road. Its never deep and always solid bottomed. You will have a better chance calling and and even better chance going out there. Ask for Kyle, he is the owner and a nice guy, just don't ride in the rhino with him. Ill try to dig thru my photobucket and see if I can find the pics I took in the main quarry or spots that looked good. If someone puts something together, count me in for help with set up and running the event. I could even be convinced to do some scouting...lol |

Here you go... 2 of the spots I thought of. Im sure they have changed since these were taken. Spot A As you come into the quarry turn right, near the pond Spot B as you come into the quarry turn left and go around the corner |
