2013 SIRCC Trail Ride Series
 

The 2013 SIRCC Trail Ride Series will be non-competition events to allow everyone to just play with the trucks without any pressure to compete. New owners of 4X4 trucks are encouraged to attend. It is open to any electric RC 4X4. In this case size does not matter.

The events will be the first Sunday of every other month beginning in February. Start will be at 10:00 AM Eastern time with everyone meeting about 9:30 to go over the days events. Most events will be follow the leader with rotating leaders throughout the day. If there is a particular challenging section of trail then the group can stop to try the obstacle and just BS.

While the Trail Ride Series is free there may be some cost to enter the state parks or for parking fees, those will be listed.

The initial four locations are:

FOTO - Falls of the Ohio State Park in Clarksville IN. There is a $2.00 parking fee.
Bender Road - Parking is at 6375 Bender Road Cincinnati OH. No fee.
Clifty Falls State Park - Madison IN. There is a $5.00 entry fee.
Cataract Falls State Park - There can be a $5.00 entry fee per car if the gate house is attended.

Tentative schedule - This is subject to change since two of the locations are on bodies of water that can quickly rise and cover the trail ride areas. Review this post for any changes in locations.

2/10/13 FOTO DATE CHANGE AGAIN. Snow and high water in Louisville.

4/7/13 - Bender Road

6/2/13 - FOTO - CHANGE IN LOCATIONS

8/4/13 - Cataract Falls

10/6/13 - Clifty Falls Postponed due to rain. To be rescheduled.

12/1/13 - Thanksgiving weekend, no event.

If this proves to be a successful series it can be expanded with more dates and locations. It is all up to those that participate.

One last note: The series will observe the rules of Tread Lightly, if you brought it in, you must carry it out. We want to be sure that out group can return to the various locations for years to come.

Sounds fun, I drill in the reserves usualy the 1st or 2nd weekend of every month but I will have to come when I can, try n get the wife to come, thats y I'm buildin 2 trucks:D

Please note there has been a date change for the first event at FOTO. Date is now Saturday 2/2/13 rather than Sunday 2/3/13 due to Super Bowl Sunday

Also, working on plans for a Poker Run for this GTG. Still working on details but it will be fun.

I'm gonna have to try to start goin to some events. This sounds like a great start too. Hopefully I can have my jeep body done and new motor and esc on by the first event

I forgot all about the first one being in February until Turn'Nburn told me the other day. I hope I can get one of my trucks going by then. I thought I had more time. I don't see the emaxx batteries lasting long enough to make it worth the while or I would bring it. The nitro Revo probably wouldn't go over too well. I need to get busy. I really hope to make it. I only made it FOTO once last year and had a blast. After the comp me and Barry ran our trucks until dark. That place is awesome.

No this is just a trail ride for fun. No gates, no pressure, just playing with toy trucks.

Here is how the Poker Run will work.
Texas Hold'em style with a three common or shared cards.
Each person will get a card when they arrive.
Just before breaking for lunch each person will get a second card.
Everyone will get a third and final card at the turn around point in the afternoon.
Additional cards will be given to the first person that has to change a battery and another card will we given to the forst person that breaks something. Figure they will probably need the extra chace to win.

The winner is the driver with the best five card hand. In the event of a tie the person wit hthe highest card wins

It is acceptable to change cards with other people there but you may be giving them the winning hand.

It looks like I will make. I ordered my parts for the wraith today and should be able to get it all together. I am going to bring the honcho for backup.

Everything is looking good. Important parts will be here tomorrow for the Wraith so I can start putting it back together. That just leaves the beadlocks which should be here by Friday but thats an easy install. Tore the honcho down tonight and replaced bearings in axles, greased the tranny. Jon is bringing me a motor for it. Unless a tornado wipes out my garage tonight I will see you gentlemen on Saturday.
