Iowa Point Series?

I see there's a few crawlers in Eastern IA, a handful of us in Central IA, and a couple on the West side of the state. Any thoughts of having an Iowa Point Series this Summer? If nothing else, we can all keep going to the MWRCA comps. Anyone know any good crawling spots besides Saylorville in Central IA? I have one spot on my way to work but I don't know if it's a good spot for comps or not. Once the snow is gone, I'll stop out there and get some pics.

Hey man, I don't know of any other locals in CI.
If some one wants to do all the leg work of the comp series I am shure people would come. It's a lot to do and don't expect help. We have a hard enough problem finding people to judge at the comps.

i have a few spots here in ottumwa to play but nothing big enough for a comp in less there is only about 15 rigs? i will look around some more and see what i can find for spots. but i agree with cole it is going to be hard to find judges and stuff like that but we could have a few get togethers this year around iowa and see if we can draw a crowd?

Just a few GTGs might be the ticket. Once the Axial RTR Scorpion hits the shelves maybe there would be more interest next year.

I am new to crawling and have live in the QCA along the Mississippi River. I was hoping for more people in this area and to be able to crawl on the rocks along the river, or on the rocks along some of the creeks and streams that feed the Mississippi.

I wouldn't mind coming to some GTG's. Are there any Supers around anymore or are you all running 2.2's? I'll have a spot at my place when this white crap melts.

Yeah I don't know of any in your area. Most are willing to drive though.

MWRCA is mostly super 2.2's are just there to drive more.

brushlessnut 01-27-2008 02:51 PM

That's cool Cole. I was just remembering the Sailorville Comp a few years ago. Seemed there was a lot of 2.2's and I know how much they have grown since then.

josh97 01-28-2008 03:34 PM

<<<running a 2.2 here along with my brother and my boy i wouldnt mind doing some traveling this summer to a few GTG as long as it's on sat i work sun nights.

kerjer3 01-31-2008 08:21 AM

I've been running an 2.2 rig and slowly building a 1.9 scaler. It's fun to watch the Supers run though. It seems like they can crawl over just about anything.

Focus07 02-14-2008 07:43 AM

I wouldnt mind a GTG to see what other people are running. And to see some crawling in person. Just as soon as I get my 2.2 built, lol. But people are telling me you need this or ya need that. Getting what I can afford or have sitting at home, jeez.:-P

BTW, for those on iowarctracks.com I go by mustang06.

kerjer3 02-17-2008 06:33 AM

Just upgrade when you can afford it. I drove around the stock TLT for a couple months while saving cash to get stuff to make it comp worthy. We're just making suggestions based on what you said you were looking into buying. It's only as expensive as you want it to be. I sold most of my racing gear for the crawler.

Focus07 02-17-2008 12:16 PM

Hey Jeremy, Got any pics of that site yet?lol You said you would post pics when the snow melted? Uh nevermind, the snow aint going to melt, cause it snows and snow and snows and snow and snows. Lovely weather outside huh?

kerjer3 02-18-2008 09:08 AM

I'm tired of getting snow pics too. It's gotta warm up eventually right? We thought we'd get some warmth by signing up for a photography conference in SC the first week of March but some sessions had to be rescheduled so we're staying in the cold. More snow for next weekend too... I can't wait!

Decorah has unlimited potential for crawlers.

Yah that part of IA is rocky. If you have some good locations post some pics, please. I have lots of incredible rocky places in Southern Ia too but you can only get to them by Jeep, quad, or horse back.

Edit: I don't no if Suzuki's could make it.
