The weekend of Jan. 10-11 2009 is out for me. Otherwise I think I am wide open for dates unless something comes up.

wow dude you want to camp in the winter?
I think most of us were thinking indoors in January"thumbsup"

DeweyCJ5 11-29-2008 01:15 PM

well was thinking spring, summer...weekend kinda thing

Bart bender 11-29-2008 02:32 PM

Sorry bout the confusion. This was directed mainly at the first GTG of '09. I believe we are planning on an indoor event possibly January in Cedar Rapids @ my shop. We will most certainly have a comp and more GTG's next summer.

Anyone is welcome to come. If everyone builds a crawling component so we can assemble them and beat our rigs that is the goal.

I have $0 invested so far. I have 2 rolls of chicken wire, 30'x60" of denim fabric, and aproximately 87lbs of portland. I am going to pick up a huge load of 1 by scrap lumber for some terrain and is all I need is some ply/osb.

January 10,11 is out for me, any other weekend is good though. Maybe we should get a tally of who is interested and pick a date to fit most everyone.????

Bart bender 12-02-2008 03:26 PM

I'm in for Waterloo gtg.

I'll also scout some more in Decorah!!

If the gas price stays "normal" I'll go just about anywhere!! The one thing that really throws a damper on things is when a guy drives a few hours and his rig wont work or he breaks right away. I'm getting a few more parts and driving skills, to the point where I know that I can run all day long...

So what you are looking for right now is some manpower to build a course or what??

I have Thursday and Friday off, going to Theory of a Deadman in Rochester on Thursday night. It would be possible to spend all weekend putting something together.

Bart bender 12-07-2008 05:31 PM

We were chatting about each person building a 4x8 sheet of ply with structures fabric wire and portlan. I'll see if I can find the posts. Then we can set them up and bash on one large course.

The discussion starts in the IA chit chat on post #118 from colesdad45
